Sadly this was the start of the Money Mayweather Cherrypicking era.
You dont know sht youre a biased fanboy thats as twisted as can be, why dont you start the thread comparing their resumes I know why because I will blow you away , I tried talking to you with some respect but nope your a fkn re-tard that sings the same empty BS like a broken record you never prove anything you say the most boxing ****** comments on the site.

Again, I could care less who's idea it was to fight at a catchweight. Floyd/Canelo was fought at a catchweight, and so was Manny/Cotto. Floyd/Marquez was an even worst catchweight sitatuation so stop trying to excuse Floyd's f**kery.
Oh god not this argument again. Please show me these so called "callouts". When Floyd returned, he beat the man who had proven himself the best of the bunch, Shane Mosley

I dont excuse Floyd for picking Marquez, in fact I have criticized him and said he should have made the 144 catchweight, but Marquez was certainly not to small when he knocked out manny pacquiao cold in 2012 (that to at 39 years of age).

I think this was when Floyd was ducking the division for two years 2008

Classic Quote: Cotto Calls Out Floyd 2008

A lot of ring observers do not know that Miguel Cotto was eager to put his then-undefeated record up against Floyd Mayweather in a Welterweight unification clash of the unbeatens in 2008 however the greatest ducker of all time wasn’t up for that challenge. Mayweather and his team claimed to the media Cotto wasn’t a big enough name and he didn’t draw big enough pay-per-view numbers to deserve a fight with Mayweather when it was prime time in 2008. But here is a quote from the normally respectful Miguel Cotto that questions the bravery of Floyd and clearly shows he meant business and wanted to put his fists on the pound-for-pound pretender.

“When you call yourself the best boxer in the world you have to fight with the best. There are other names at 147 pounds and if Mayweather does not have the courage to get in the ring to fight with me, my career has to continue. I won’t wait for him.” –Miguel Cotto 2008

..but he heard that callout from lightweight Marquez doe

Tyson maybe the greatest Floyd hater of all time. He’s said many times he doesn’t like Floyd.

Lol okay. What about when Cottos corner admitted that they were not ready for pretty boy floyd in 2005 against Arturo Gatti?

Anyway, he fought and beat Cotto (who was off one of his biggest and most satisifying wins in his career) and won pretty convincgly though Cotto made Floyd work (something pacquiao couldnt do for most of his exitsence)

EDIT: Very funny that everyone was calling Mayweather out when he was retired. Anyway, it makes no sense that you duck someone you fight.

yeah paulie also said pacquiao is on roid then afterwards revoked everything he said and praised pac. really legit boxing analyst..

no. prime oscar was a lightweight and welterweight, prime pacquiao was a featherweight.

oscar had the jab, chin, and size to give pacquiao trouble. he was horribly weight drained and a spent force when they fought. even then oscar took all of his shots. think about it. it was just his face being torn up and the fact that he was too shot and old so he couldn't see or pull the trigger due to the speed.

no disrespect to manny. i think in a pound for pound sense, if they were the same size, manny would beat him. but they aren't. oscar fought at middleweight. he outboxed felix trinidad, one of the hardest punchers at 147 i have ever seen. he outjabbed ike quartey. he slugged it out with fernando vargas. this is just a different sized fighter, gentlemen.
