Luck has nothing to do with it. He made himself into the cash cow with the help of GBP. What disadvantages did Smith or Jacobs have when they signed to fight Canelo? Why even bring up Fielding? When was he relevant?

Um yeah it actually is luck. If he wasnt Mexican he wouldnt have the fanbase that he is. Thats a fact.
Smith should of lost his fight before ginger and had a short camp.
They put same day weigh in on jacobs and fined him over a million for each pound he missed.
He also put a rehydration clause on fielding.
Like this dude does everything in his arsenal to get the advantage. Because paid off judges just arent enough

I've never been the biggest canelo fan. As a Hispanic I feel like I have to stay even keeled when a hyped up prospect or son if a legend comes along because we tend to get extremely carried away and follow some atheletes blindly. But as canelo has improved (and lost some hispanic fans because of it) he has grown on me.

I do not understand what the deal is with him, he has literally fought most of not all proven fighters that people said he couldnt beat or was ducking.

            Example

"Oh he only wants to fight cotto for the pay day, hes ducking trout who beat cotto" - fights trout

"Lara is the real champ at 154, hes ducking lara" - fights lara

"Hes too green to fight the best fighter in the world" - still fights floyd

"Hes ducking the boogey man, ggg will knock him out" - boxes him to a draw in 1 fight and outsluggs him in the 2nd

And aside from those he still fought semi dangerous punchers in angulo kirkland and kovalev, and took the Jacobs and cotto fights without people asking for it..

If ANY other fighter had all those names on their resume they would be talking legendarily about them lol.

People are so in their feelings nowadays, so extra critical and just want to see people fall so bad instead of enjoying these guys taking these tough fights when canelo could easily be selling 500k PPV or more fighting bums and looking phenomenal like some other guys have in recent years (cough cough* ggg, crawford, gervonta) except with the drawing power to actually make money off them

Caleb Plant is the weakest. Plant vs Benavidez would be huge but Plant now has the excuse of Benavidez not having a belt in order to duck him. Canelo would destroy Plant. It´s not a challenge for Canelo.

LMAO!! Gayweather DID NOT fight the biggest names in their primes. Ducked Margarito, Williams, ducked a young Mosley, ducked a De la Hoya rematch, ducked and ducked Pacquiao for years!

Charlo can easily get the Canelo fight. Easy, all he has to do is fight Plant in May in order to secure the September date with Canelo. Canelo has a two fight contract with Hearn, Feb and May (presumably with BJS for the WBO). Canelo has made it public plenty of times that this year he's collecting all the belts, no secrecy there.

So what's the hold up with Charlo saying I'm getting Plant in May to get Canelo in September? What's the hold up? Why can't anyone that keeps screaming Charlo's name answer me that?

Canelo is the cash cow partly because the other fighters have made him that. They are willing to sit around and wait hoping to be picked like Canelo's the Bachelor or something instead of going ahead with their own careers. Right now 160-168 needs another star and that path is open for someone to make themselves equal to Canelo. A big money fight with Canelo is great but its even better if you're getting a larger slice of the pie.

Like someone else said.... Charlo, GGG or Andrade should unify or become undisputed at 160. Someone fight Murata, then Andrade or GGG. IF I'm Charlo im taking these fights. By the end of September you could be talking about the undisputed Middleweight champ and the undisputed Supermiddleweight champ going at it. Thats a huge fight and bigger than of these guys just sitting and waiting around hoping to get picked. Like someone else said if Canelo wont fight Benavidez then fine go fight the guy take him out. Fight Danny Jacobs as a 1st fight at 168.

Its like Canelo has bexome his own sanctioning body and these guys paying fees to be regular interim and franchise silver north american world beltholders and mandatories.

Im with Canelo's former boss B Hop, the only fight that matters is Canelo vs Charlo. Charlo is willing to move up to 168. Other than that, Canelo will be fighting slow C level champs from 168.

What's Charlo actually done that say a Smith hadn't.
Is Charlo unified, got the Ring belt? tried to unify or get the ring belt?
How is Charlo not just more food for Canelo?
