I have to sadly give boxing a vision of a bleak future, because the best do not usually fight each other.

Whether it's one fighter who doesn't want to fight the other, or the sorry excuse of different networks and/ or promoters, it's a sad state affairs.

Charlo and Andrade have been trying to fight GGG. GGG chose other opponents. Hearn said he MAY get a GGG, Andrade fight this year. Don't hold your breath.

Yildirim is the best turkish SMW as of now, that tells you all, thats his ceiling, Plant is a champ of Tennessee and Saunders used to be the best MW out of England, not anymore, both Williams at MW and Ryder at SMW will beat the **** out of Saunders and will probably let him retire in the corner

If avoiding Charlo, Andrade & David Benavidez makes you P4P....what does that make them?

            Just askin.

CAN-nelo will continue to take low risk fights. Easy money, easy wins. Thats why he isn't great. He's a good fighter though.

Actions speak louder than words and Canelo purposely avoided Charlo. It happened.

Lol, bruh, Yildrim has NO CHANCE of beating any of the top five from 160lbs to 175lbs. In none of those divisions could he beat ANY of the top five, even by fluke.

No Disrespect intended here on the writer or the Fighter...... But have to ask ?
I just don't see how all this constant talk about Canelo Alverez is good for boxing. Boxing is good when you have good fights that lead to good fights with some great ones turning up along the way. Lot of road blocks to that I realize. It would also be nice to have the fight game open to more people not less people watching. Is this the way ? Over and over again from all directions. For boxing for more and better fights and attracting more people into the fight game ?

Either a) you ain't clearly better than those around you in which case the odds are that in fighting two or three other guys in the 'queue' it's very likely you take an L which drops you out of the sweepstakes... And bear in mind even if you're willing to take that chance the other guys of your level are making the same calculation.

Or b) you are clearly - or believe you are clearly - a step ahead of the other guys competing for a Canelo slot, in which case why the **** would they fight you knowing that an L would drop them out of contention for the biggest payday they'll ever see?

Way I see its the way the sport's structured that's the problem.. The Vegas Superstar model I call it, which distorts everything around one or two particular fighters to ensure the money keeps rolling in... Thing is in the long run it's damaging to the sport as a whole to my eyes. When you got a situation where a fighter can earn more in one fight than possibly in the entire rest of their career combined it's not hard to see why they become averse to doing anything that might put that at risk. Point being getting the Wins doesn't guarantee you the shot anyway, but taking an L drastically reduced your chance of getting the call.
Canelo didn't cry about any of this, though. He took high-risk low-reward fights that he had a real chance of losing, like Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara.

He outright took an L against Floyd.

But he was developing and improving himself the whole time. And that's why he is where he is today. Played the long game and now he's a boss.

These dudes playing it safe hoping to cash a lottery ticket? They aren't staying active enough or challenging themselves or improving their boxing IQ and toolbag.

It will bite them in the ass if they ever do get the call.
