Joyce has improved a bit, especially on the defense, Usyk has slowed down a bit. It should be interesting to watch. If Joyce is able to keep landing consistently, then he's got a fairly good chance. The main problem as I see it is that his power punches are slow to connect which gives Usyk room to maneuver.

That was some fruity writing there Elie. The more you give your analysis the more you prove yourself to be a complete MORON. You are the only person here that thinks highly of yourself=DELUSIONAL.

In Oleksandr Usyk vs. Joe Joyce last encounter in the WSoB, the regulations within its compact design ( five rounds ), favored Oleksandr to win a decision.
Joe had to put overwhelming pressure on the elusive Ukrainian Gold-medalist in the 15 minute contest. The short time limit, makes one wonder if Joyce would gradually erode Usyk's mobility and eventually render Oleksandr defenseless, with more time. How the fight may have played-out in 36 minutes? Thats the general consensus.
But, this logic works both ways : The amount of clean-punches that staggered and bloodied Joe vs. Usyk in the WSoB, needs to be considered. Oleksandr may force Joyce corner to stop the fight in a 12 round fight ; Joe Joyce is a danger to himself, DDD was landing vicious combinations on Joyce, apparently Joe has not improved much in the last nine years since the WSoB.
'' Fairly-Confident '' is right, Joe.

Whoever is training Joe Joyce, should address the lack of body-attacks on Usyk by Joe, in the WSoB. Joe's basic 1-2's were predictable, Usyk would counter Joyce off jabs and crosses at a alarming rate.
Derek Chisora had a lot of success against Oleksandr Usyk because he was bobbing and weaving under Usyk's jab and even shift from orthodox to southpaw, using the jab with both hands, constantly aggravating Usyk. When Derek worked his way into range, his hooks up & downstairs, combined with dirty-boxing troubled Olkesandr.
Joe Joyce obviously is considerably taller than Chisora and has a different style, we can forget about Joe bobbing and weaving. But one thing he can add from Chisora's playbook is to rough up Usyk in close range.
I must admit Peter, I lost my concentration as I collected my thoughts, in my previous post. I can tell that withholding my genius has upset you and to tell you the truth, I'm a little embarrassed to have disappointed you. That was some fruity writing there Elie. 50/50 fight. Their amateur fight is irrelevant at this point as they are now fighting in heavyweight. Usyk is slower than before so Joyce has a lot of opportunities to catch him. Joyce constant job and powerful right will be the key in this fight. I see Joyce winning by close UD or late KO...Last edited by Drigo; 01-26-2021, 08:12 PM.Comment

Usyk fan here, and I want him to win some HW titles. I want him to etch some greatness. He is fun, he does not take himself too seriously, but he is a serious fighter. But if this happens, Joyce will most likely not be hurt by Usyk punches. Maybe he can stick him, sting him some, but not hurt. Joyce will come forward and dare Usyk to prove he is a legit HW, all the while assure of his ability to hurt the smaller Usyk.
I actually think Usyk needs this. He has had something like inside of two years training and fighting at HW now. This fight would stamp him as a worthy #1 contender to the Joshua/Fury winner, not just a former CW handed the status. He would be in a better position when it comes time for his actual shot. If he beats Joyce.
If.
That is a huge, monstrous, very scary "if".Comment

I got no horse in this race, no favorite, so I don't care who wins, my interest is in the boxing. My take is, Joe is too slow, I never saw anybody that slow, who wasn't sick. Usyk is quick enough to duck Joe all night, but he's not big enough to hurt him. It's going to the cards, unless Usyk gets old, and depends on what they like, pressure or skills.Comment

Foreman in the 90”s was slower and like Joyce much harder to stop . Joyce was called a slow robot from day one , very few saw what he actually was and that’s a big unit who’s a threat to anyone.Comment
