An old coach of mine used to say boxing is an honourable sport filled with dishonourable people.
    Where is this honor?

Whether it's 24/7, picking the right team, use of social media etc. Floyd built his brand expertly. He also had the skills and boxing talent to back it up, something people forget. Broner, for example, was on the way to building his brand successfully with his schtick but he didn't have the talent or skills to last.

Innovators get the glory while those too afraid to try anything get left behind. Floyd has created another revenue stream for retired great fighters who historically have no revenue streams once they are retired.

Floyd, ODH, Tyson are outliers. Most of them struggle to find any gainful employment.

I honestly don't see how this hurts the sport.
Yeah none of that hurts the sport. When Floyd was fighting top fighter after top fighter whilst promoting the hell out of it that was great for boxing. As they are legitimate contests. Great adverts for the sport.

But the biggest fight of the year being an ATG fighter fighting an untrained YouTuber or two 50 yr olds facing one another definitely hurts the credibility of the sport IMO.

A lot of my friends will watch Floyd-Paul but wouldn’t watch Crawford-Spence for example. The exhibition sh** is overshadowing the real sh**. It just makes the sport look like a joke. It makes me embarrassed to be a boxing fan.

I’m not one of these guys saying Floyd is solely responsible but he’s definitely been a major catalyst in the popularity of these freak show fights.

In fights like Gatti-Ward for example. Boxing at its best can be wonderful. Unfortunately we don’t see it anywhere near as much as we should.

Okay, that's kind of my point right there. Or the converse is really. For every Gatti-Ward there is a Floyd-Ortiz or some such similar. There is no era of just Gatti-Ward type fights so it's probably best we quit pretending there ever was.

This is the sport that exhibits with bears and ****. May as well own it and not worry about the animal rights folk who'd be turned off because they'll figure it out soon enough anyway. Get me?

If Floyd/Jake and Tyson/Roy outsell Canelo and Manny fights that means they aren't fighting who they should be. THAT is what hurts the credibility of the sport. Is that on Floyd?

It also means PBC and TR haven't done a good enough job of promoting these guys.

Floyd retired on top. At some point we as fans have to be honest about the difference between Floyd-a cash cow who spent close to 15 years ranked as one of the top 2 p4p fighters in the sport-and everyone else.

I don't know how else to say it-just because Floyd did it or can do it doesn't mean everyone else can. Floyd's path is his alone.

The sport would be better if everyone found their own lane rather than everyone trying to follow Floyd in the one he carved out for himself.

I get this but ask yourself why? Gatti was a unique fighter-a very popular but very average fighter. His most notable fights are ones where he was matched with other average guys-Robinson, Ward.

In all honesty, how many guys are evenly matched with Floyd that they could produce that kind of fights Gatti had?

I get that English is like your 4th language but nowhere in the post did I state or imply that.

Come on suck suck, at this point you're kind of stalking me and it's getting creepy. If you have a point to make, make it.

Just take some time and use correct English so I can understand your point.
