That said, they will take a unification over a mandatory as long as the mandatory hasn't already been called. They're the org that doesn't break their own rules every hour.

I wonder why too? WBA is the worst!

          Good.
The IBF actually follow their rules tbf.

This reminds me of the Jamie McDonnell situation.

Denis Hobson got Jamie the IBF world title. He then signed with Hearn and Eddie promised him the “big fights”. He also ended up vacating his IBF title and Hearn steered him towards the WBA regular title. His most recent fight was a 6 rounder on a Matchroom Italy undercard.

          Futures looking bright for Warrington...

Wouldn't that make the WBA a joke? The IBF has nothing to do with the way the WBA makes their decisions

Kid Galahad is talking about signing a 4 fights deal with PBC, Josh dropping the belt seems like a ****** decision right now.

That would be 3 belts on PBC side, Josh only option would be Navaratte. It would be genius for them to sign Kid, Josh talking about fighting GRJ and Xu.... Don’t see those fights happening if PBC can push the deal through.

And am glad this happened to Josh/Hearn....

The rationale in the IBF’s case is political... they may rank a secondary titlist rank 1 only for the secondary titlist to continually decline IBF title shots... making them look bad (undesirable)
Welp, guess whose political rationale backfired huge? Warrington dropping IBF belt into the bin 'because they refused unification bout' politically damaged ibf reputation pretty good.
All IBF had to do is adding secondary titlists like Xu Can [and Haney ] into their Top15 ranking, preferably Top3. The Ring ranking has him there btw.

As I understand it, the mandatory was due, so even if Xu had been ranked highly by the IBF straight away, the mandatory vs Galahad would still have to be first

Navarette is with Top Rank, which has a partnership with Frank and Queensbury so it looks like Josh has zero options now...
