for the most part it's the promoters. they kill potential fights if they don't see the right timing. promoters are more concern about the payday not the fighters. look at the very least example, inoue and casimero bout. it should've happened back then but arum killed it as he wants to do this with audience to gather more money.

I think that both are a factor in fights not being made. Promoters obviously wanna keep things in-house so that's a barrier.

Then you have fighters who complain about who should be the "A-side" vs. the "B-side".

Last but not least, both use the "who has he fought?" and "he's not a draw" excuse when all else fails.

On the whole I think fighters want to face the best out there in their minds they beat anyone out there

Neither. It’s the sanctioning bodies.

Every fight we ever wanted would have happened if there was only one title.

The challenger would concede in negotiations.

With four titles and 17 weight classes, there’s too many other “big” fights that aren’t that big out there for everyone.

Definitely the promoters. Promoters are buying an investment when they sign a fighter. They wanna get the max money they can from any investment like anyone investing in anything.

Fighters largely are trying to get paid like everyone is to one degree or another, but they got a lower threshold of $$$ success than promoters + they actually have a desire to compete & find out how good they are. Idk that the average promoter gives a fook if his guy is the best guy if he's making money off of that guy. If they do care that comes later when they are up money-wise already.

Its the boxers, if a boxer truly wants a fight it can be made. The promoters are just working on behalf of the fighter.

Take crawford for instance, if he wanted to he could tell Arum to offer Porter/Thurman 2 million but he doesnt so Arum doesnt and who gets the blame? Arum but arum is just the fall guy and he happy to be that but truth is its Crawford wishes Arum is carrying out.

Exclusive Network Deals Actually!

When HBO was just putting up money for big fights only regardless of promotion, we was getting big and better fights far more consistently. Now with ESPN, FOX, Showtime and DAZN all doing exclusive deals with Promoters and fighters it makes things so difficult

Now don't get me wrong I'm Happy DAZN, ESPN, Showtime and FOX are all spending big money on Boxing but yeah this divide in boxing is making things very difficult

That fight was cancelled due to the pandemic. Had nothing to do with audiences, was scheduled before boxing even returned to empty arena shows.
