  • Comments Thread For: David Benavidez Demands Caleb Plant Fight, Eyes Canelo Alvarez

Caleb Plant may think he is the best super-middleweight in the world, but to his divisional cohort David Benavidez, he is simply a low hurdle waiting to be cleared. "I would want to get a fight with Plant first, just to get that out of the way," Benavidez told FightHubTV, when asked whom he preferred to fight first, Plant or Canelo Alvarez. "The time is past. We've been talking sh-t to each other, it's been hyped up for like three years. I feel like it's time. I might get that fight soon."

Plant won't take it. Plant can't beat Benavidez.

Canelo don't want no smoke with Benavidez. David would whoop his ass.

Why would he risk his Canelo payday?

Benavidez is talented but lack decipline. Wont be surprise if he is easily forgotten...

We have to stop thinking like managers. Don't give fighters a way out. "Risking paydays, or taking more money for a easier opponent"is all BS. We should be applauding legacy. If he fights Plant win or lose he needs to keep fighting the top fighters. I'm tired of the fanager approach.

They gave Plant the loss already in the article.

                20-1?

Benavidez can fight and is dangerous for all

My question is with his size will he have the discipline to make weight and stick around much longer and being only 24 he will continue to struggle unless it's just not training to make weight. I give him a shot with Canelo also because of his come forward style and work rate, we no Canelo tires when not on the stuff!

He is spot on with everything he said, especially about Plant's opposition. The question now is can he remain disciplined and make weight for the bout? I can see it now, Plant beats him and doesn't get credit because people will say he was drained from making weight
