Perhaps some late afternoon Russian card, or unnoticed Friday fight?

Last week, Madrimov vs Soro was very early, for example...

Ha, well. Just tested positive for COVID again which has kinda put an end to the remainder of my yuletide festivities, so I reckon it's back to the treadmill..

OK so Ima put up the thread for the January 1st card shortly.. maybe just wait for the kids to go to bed. Then I'll knock up some kinda discussion thread for 2022 although I'm not really envisaging too many changes... although I have tallied up the number of the different types of DEC picks that have come up throughout the year YoungManRumble and the results are as follows:

      CLOSE 10
      CLEAR 24
      WIDE 17
      DRAW 3

So on those grounds it's pretty clear we need to be shifting the threshold between CLOSE and CLEAR... ain't even gonna debate this one cos we're gotta make a rapid decison so people can decide on their Jan 1st picks.

So for 2022 the DEC picks will be as follows

CLOSE 8 or fewer (7 of fewer on a 10 rounder)
      CLEAR 9 - 17 (8 - 14 on a 10 rounder)
      WIDE 18+ (15+ on a 10 rounder)

I think most likely we're gonna keep the current DRAW method as well and keep it at 150 pts although I'm still open to giving points on DEC PICKS made on fights where the result is a draw... maybe I'll put it to the poll. I'm also gonna aim - again - to have slightly fewer fights. Target is probably around 6 - 8 per month but obviously it ain't possible to be too precise... and yeah, gonna aim for all the major org primary world title fights although logistically some of the really wide mismatches or those in the tiny divisions or midweek fights might be omitted for logistical reasons.

Damn. I know unvaxxed purebloods that have tested positive less times than you. Like, zero times since the pandemic started.

There's probably no time to implement this before 2022 but one change I have mentioned before and would like to see is to reward the more accurate picks with more points.

Any monkey can pick the correct winning fighter most times, so doing that should only get you 10 points.

Picking the correct method of victory on top of that should get you 15 points. And then if you are really good and pick the correct detail for a perfect score? That should get you 20.

I like this too cause I'd probably have already won this year if that was the case haha..

Is it? And what was wrong with that?

Prolific perfect pickers should be rewarded (even though YMR would have won regardless.)

I hear ya. We found there to be better value in the method we are currently using. Happy Holidays

Coming right down to the wire again. Ioka vs ***unaga on the 31st will decide it all.... My money's on the Canuck hustler though.
