I think Hopkins sympathizes with Canelo as a fighter but also understands why Canelo did not like Oscar and felt like he was being ripped off. People in Canelo’s camp do not trust Oscar and that got into Canelo’s head. It’s a matter of time that these same people get into Ryan Garcia’s head and get him away from Oscar.

Sometimes I think Hopkins should be in charge of BG. The way Hopkins was so well-disciplined across his career and such a canny fighter, he just strikes me as a smarter guy than Oscar. Then again business and boxing aren't the same, so who knows. GB's just never been the same ever since Schaefer peaced out on them.

stop, it’s not catastrophic. They already made money off canelo at the peak of his popularity and Ppv success. He’s not going to surpass his previous numbers based on the current opposition available. His numbers at Dazn ****** in comparison to what he was getting paid.

Why didn’t Hopkins sound like this prior?

Because it’s possible he’s old school and doesn’t take the dirty laundry to the public. I’d also imagine behind the scenes he was probably on Oscar’s ear but didn’t wish to get into the middle of the fray. Sometimes it’s better to not engage at all instead of thrusting yourself into the middle.
