Comments Thread For: Bernard Hopkins: Loss of Canelo Still Tough To Swallow

Although his colleagues at Golden Boy Promotions have preferred to put on their poker faces in regards to the stunning departure of Canelo Alvarez from their promotional stable, Bernard Hopkins does not seem to mind letting his guard down.

Very classy from BHop. It seems like him and Canelo got along well and respected each other. I'm glad that's still the case even through the GBP break up

Bet the other thing of Canelo's wasn't so hard for you to swallow.

Well said and good luck to Canelo who needs to fight the best as he is himself.

Why didn’t Hopkins sound like this prior?

Salute to B-Hop! Comments were very similar when Richard Schaefer left Golden Boy Promotions too! Let's not forget Robert Garcia's comments when Joshua Franco got the NC! Lastly, let's not forget ODLH was absent when Canelo lost to Mayweather! We know who the problem is! They must do better with Ryan Garcia and Vergil Ortiz Jr.! Ortiz Jr. vs. Hooker is a good start. Tank vs. KingRy would be even better! Make It Happen!

These relationships don't last much longer when the fighters get that big. It was bound to happen as long as Canelo kept winning plus, none of his potential opponents is with Golden Boy so all the fights at the top level could be made without him being with Golden Boy

Classy by Bernard. He knows how brutal this sport is inside the ring, and all the politics and nonsense that fighters put up with outside the ring.
