Real talk though, Lomachenko is the most overhyped fighter I've ever seen

Honestly from day one I remember when this guy turned pro and his fanboys were saying how he's a different breed and would never lose.

Supposedly his boxing was just on a different level and there was nobody who could crack the code

Then after feasting on old midgets, he fights luke Campbell and struggles and people say "oh the side though..."

As if Canelo just didn't go up to 175 and knock Kovalev spark out, or go 168 and brutalize Liam Smith 12-0

And sorry but both of those guys are a hell of a lot better than luke Campbell.

Then he goes and fights scared vs teo, and I'm just being honest here I don't even see teo as some phenominal fighter I just think he's a decent world champ level.

It just says it all about loma he was never that good and needed size advantage to look like a "genius" against little fellers

Even though I think Canelo is a cheating scumbag, and those wins against Kovalev and Callum were not legitimate, I do think you are 100% right. Any time Loma gives up a height and reach advantage, he seems to get tagged easily, has trouble slipping the jab and getting inside, and on top of it all has no power to keep these guys honest. Canelo on the other hand, you never see him get hit cleanly by these taller guys and he has power to add.

You are also forgetting that he struggled a lot vs Pedraza and Linares, was getting nailed with hard shots left and right in both fights.

A loss to a borderline gatekeeper and another loss to a 23 year old

I like watching Loma fight but that says a lot.

And he only has what 16 fights?

nah, that is a pretty clueless evaluation

Loma is stretched at lightweight, and Teo is a beast... he should obviously drop back down to 130

FACT: that fight was VERRRRRY close

Team Teo are bltches for not doing the right thing

            they running from that rematch

Saw my thread and posted this in an attempt to keep the fake hate culture going.

              Bravo, troll.

I got into this topic more in depth in some other thread and Ill just go over my thoughts here again lightly.

Lomachenko is a good to great fighter however he is being crucified because yes he did fail to live up to the hype but when you fail to live up to the hype that the HYPE MACHINE ESPN/HBO were pushing him as it makes your failure look way more dramatic than what they are. Yes lomachenko looked great against some champions and looked horrible against others and lost twice, that is a solid resume of a solid champion and thats what lomachenko is.. a solid champion.

Problem enters when fans of the opposite spectrum starts to argue and express their opinions more so to offend the others rather than speak the truth. Loma fans will say he is great but he isnt a great, he is a solid champion. Loma haters will say how he is trash but he isnt trash, he is a solid champion.

I'm not even really a Loma fan. He is certainly a talented fighter though, just not a huge fan of his style. Too much pitty-pat for me. But again a super talented guy.

I find it hilarious though that all he is really guilty of is really trying to test himself - ie moving up in weight, and fighting the best as well, on even terms.

People who are new to boxing aren't really aware of what that looks like. They are used to stars using their status and privilege to avoid tough fights, while accusing the other guy of ducking; and then only selectively matching up with 'tough' opponents - making sure the timing, venue, refs, judges, weights etc are all on their side.

If you move up in weight, and truly fight the best on even terms, you will often times lose. Credit to Loma for being a real man and taking real fights. Not a lot of real men out there like that; in boxing, on this site, or in real life.
