Vasyl Lomachenko Admits Lopez Sr's Mind Games is Why There Was No Rematch Clause

In the case of Lomachenko/Lopez, Lomachenko was the A side and he told his manager to take it out of the contract. Just a terrible decision.Comment

There wasn't one for Mayweather/Pacquiao but that was a bit different situation. Both were MEGA stars and a lot went on to even get the first fight signed.
But Lomachenko/Lopez was not close to that level. And putting a rematch clause in the contract when you have the leverage to do so is NOT being a diva at all. That is just boxing business 101.Comment

Then he should have told Canelo there is no fight. Golovkin gave in too easily. I said the exact same thing when it was first reported there was no rematch clause in the first fight. Golovkin had lots of leverage at that time but he wanted the fight and the money so he gave in.Comment

Whether he thought he needed it or not, there was no reason to remove it. His management dropped the ball there.Comment
