Vasyl Lomachenko Admits Lopez Sr's Mind Games is Why There Was No Rematch Clause

Snow queen is literally one of the very few female boxing reporters that I respect, she came into the sport working for ellie and she just did her job he didnt **** all these boxers like the other females reporters did, she a big fan of the sport she is actually an amatuer boxers with goals to turn pro herself. No one has anything bad to say about her and she always does good interviews.

I like the interview she did with Robert Garcia when she asked Robert whats next for Mikey and Rober said IDK she joking said "PACQUAIO, PACQUAIO, PACQUAIO" poking fun a bit at mikey and robert laughed and said yea thats all he wants but he might not get it and is probably wasting his time.

Now to lomachenko, hes a poor sport and pointing the fingers at everyone else but himself on why he finds himself in this spot.

Okay, so she worked for Ellie. I knew it was either for ESNEWS or Fighthype but just didn't remember.

I didn't know she was is an amateur boxer, that's pretty cool!

But yeah, you can tell how knowledgable a reporter is with their follow up questions. She was on point all interview and asked the right questions. When Lomachenko brought up his shoulder, she quickly reminded him that just before the fight you said this is the most injury-free you have ever been heading into a fight. She asked him exactly what he meant by the statement the refs were loaded and why he started so slow. When Lomachenko was clowning Garcia, she said isn't it possible that he has improved since he was just a young kid back then and brought up some of his attributes to why he may be the real deal.

Really solid job by her and Lomachenko himself let free and gave good answers. Again, you could tell he felt very comfortable around her and even brought up watching and liking her interview with Robert Garcia. He probably realized then that she knew her stuff and follows the sport deeply unlike other reporters.

Unbelievable, but Lomachenko admits in this interview that Lopez Sr was saying before the fight that he was scared to lose so he would include a rematch clause so in response, he (Lomachenko) told his manager Egis that he didn't really care if there's a rematch clause and it can be taken out.



Lomachenko was the clear A side here and fighters in his position almost always have a rematch clause. This has nothing about being "scared" but it is just the smart thing to do. Loamchenko proved his incompetence here by letting a man get in his head and as a result taking the rematch clause out of the contract. So if he never gets a rematch it will be on him and only him. Both father and son just mentally ripped him apart before the fight and it showed with how he came out in the early going.

Lomachenko still has a lot of big fights he can take and he can return to the top but this is something that is going to forever going to haunt him.

I do agree with Loma and as I said the day of the fight, Garcia did not win that and I will take Loma by KO in a rematch. Garcia doesn't want it, that says a lot.

It was reported far before Lopez ended up getting 1.5M that Lomachenko was set to make 3.2M. Even when those reports were out, Arum kept saying there was no more money for Lopez...Then later they bumped his guarantee to 1.5M.

It doesn't really matter. The point is he apparently took a reduced purse to help make the fight happen. I like that attitude.

I mean excuse or not, Lomachenko had the leverage to demand whatever he wanted and he would have got it. For him to take the rematch clause out of his contract because Lopez Sr was mocking him is straight incompetence on his part. You don't give up a rematch clause because the other side is saying you are scared you are going to lose so that's why there will be a rematch clause. Lomachenko could have thrown his shoulder out or something could have happened and the rematch clause would have come in handy. Mayweather had a rematch clause for every fight, doesn't mean he did it because he was scared he was going to lose every fight....He had it because he had the leverage to ask for it and it was the smart thing to do.

There wasn't one for Mayweather/Pacquiao but that was a bit different situation. Both were MEGA stars and a lot went on to even get the first fight signed.
