pretty good interview. Hopefully Loma the rematch happens and I'd also like to see him fight anyone from Tank/Garcia/HaneyComment

The Lopez's played Loma like a fiddle inside AND outside the ring I guess. Can't let ego get in the way of smart business in this unforgivable sport.Comment

i think loma has turned into sloma
if u sign and fight and don't preform to your and the fans expectations just say it wasn't my night blah blah, learn from the experience and if u can get back on the horse asap
be gracious in victory and defeat if possible
u can go from loser to hero in one fight and the other way around too
loma takes risks and makes big fights, thats what boxing needs, not the other way around
& this nonsense of letting these 2 lopez get into his head wtf, whats in his head, air?
experienced guy, no excuses plsLast edited by BirdSong; 12-31-2020, 04:35 PM.Comment

Sounds like Loma made some bad judgement calls in relation to this fight. 1)Taking a pay cut so that Lopez would fight him, 2)not having a rematch clause and 3)fighting with an injured shoulder, thinking that he has the skills to beat Lopez with essentially one hand. Lopez claims that he won't give Loma a rematch because he was disrespectful after the fight. It makes him look like a scared, little bitch to refuse a rematch with the former champion, who claims the first fight was a fluke of bad judges.Comment

Anyways, you put the rematch clause in for a variety of reasons. Watch his interview, he said it was his plan to start a little slow and not get hit with any big shots and didn't trust his shoulder holding up if he went for it early on. More reason to have a rematch clause when he's gone into fights in the post injured.Comment

The rematch clause isn't really the issue imo. I like that attitude of being willing to fight without a rematch clause or being willing to give up some of your purse to make the fight happen. The issue was not doing enough in the early early rounds to win the fight, regardless of the reasons. That's what Loma will be mad about deep down.Comment

Both Loma and Lopez have very big egos. Thats why they dont like each other.
In my opinion, Loma lost cause of his ego. Its bound to happen to Lopez one day. Hope he can learn from Lomas obvious mistake of UNDERESTIMATING him but I doubt it.Comment

Snow queen is literally one of the very few female boxing reporters that I respect, she came into the sport working for ellie and she just did her job he didnt **** all these boxers like the other females reporters did, she a big fan of the sport she is actually an amatuer boxers with goals to turn pro herself. No one has anything bad to say about her and she always does good interviews.
I like the interview she did with Robert Garcia when she asked Robert whats next for Mikey and Rober said IDK she joking said "PACQUAIO, PACQUAIO, PACQUAIO" poking fun a bit at mikey and robert laughed and said yea thats all he wants but he might not get it and is probably wasting his time.
Now to lomachenko, hes a poor sport and pointing the fingers at everyone else but himself on why he finds himself in this spot.Comment

Lopez didn't specifically ask for some of Loma's purse. He asked for a certain amount of money and in order to make it possible, Loma voluntarily agreed to take a lower purse. There's nothing to debunk that.
The shoulder is a convenient excuse or mitigation now that he has lost. Like Lopez said, top athletes are rarely 100%. There's always some injury or other. Loma accepted the fight and the terms believing he would win. That's why he didn't demand a rematch clause. Problem is he didn't win.
I mean excuse or not, Lomachenko had the leverage to demand whatever he wanted and he would have got it. For him to take the rematch clause out of his contract because Lopez Sr was mocking him is straight incompetence on his part. You don't give up a rematch clause because the other side is saying you are scared you are going to lose so that's why there will be a rematch clause. Lomachenko could have thrown his shoulder out or something could have happened and the rematch clause would have come in handy. Mayweather had a rematch clause for every fight, doesn't mean he did it because he was scared he was going to lose every fight....He had it because he had the leverage to ask for it and it was the smart thing to do.Comment
