so your context is to ignore the fact that there was a pandemic and ggg had no way of fighting shortly after his fight with Derveyenchenko. Big Fights just started happening again 2 months ago ya dunce. Canelo is gonna fight this mandatory ; the first mandatory he’s ever faced in his career after dropping or being stripped of 3 world titles over the past few years. Canelo is gonna fight this nobody, then he’s going to focus on another euro who’s looked bad recently in Saunders all the while ignoring the better challengers. When have you seen Canelo fight this soon after a high profile fight? When have you seen him fight NOT on tCinco De Mayo or Mexican independence day weekend? Rocky Fielding was in December and that was a throw away fight as well. That fight was to introduce him to DAZN and to generate subs. This fight will take place in February. Canelo has plenty of time to recover and train for the real fight in May.

I would love to hear your thoughts on that and how you spin it.

You can disagree all you want with the quality of both fighters but the general consensus by most experts and fans is that Canelos resume is far better than GGG's. What key names does GGG have on his resume aside from Canelo?

As far as your dates, Canelo was handed over the Mexican holidays from Floyd starting in 2016, he fought in May and sept of 2016, and May and September of 2017. In 2018 he didn’t fight in May because he got caught cheating. He fought that September (in a high profile fight he ggg), then had a quick turnaround 3 months later against fielding, fought Jacobs in May of 2019, chose not to fight in sept because he was too much of a diva to fight ggg and declined Andrade and opted for old Kovalev giving the washed up Kovalev 10 weeks in between fights. He didn’t fight this past May and if you take his word for it, he never bothered to sign the contract for Saunders even pre pandemic. He also passed on fighting this past September due to more diva like behavior. So since getting the Mexican dates , he’s fought on 6 of the dates and never signed to fight on 3 of them. What’s your point ? And you never answered my question to explain the big disparity in completion faced between Canelo and ggg since 2017. And I don’t hate canelos success , I just see through his his minimizing or risks and what I do dislike is his cult like fan base who hate to hear the truth.

Don’t get me wrong I criticize the guy because I think he’s an excellent fighter who should be facing better competition. I think he woulda beaten every other MW 2 years ago. I still think he gives them a tough fight and may beat some of them. Also the belt organizations need to set up a better way to determine who becomes the mandatory challenger. I do like the idea that the WBC presented. Mauricio Sulaiman suggested putting together a small tourney where all the mandatory challengers from every belt organization participate and the winner of that tournament become the mandatory challenger. Of course this is for someone holding multiple belts. This way the champ is not tied up with multiple mondo fights that just don’t make sense.

A tournament would be OK. It's getting a little crazy with all the amount of mandatory fights.

Him fighting Yildrim is not a big deal if it is outside of those dates because the high profile fights fall under the two dates we are referring to.

Kovalev is a grown man, he signed a contract. If you are going to make the excuse that Kovalev lost because he was given a short turn around then you have to use that same ideology and say that Canelo only lost to Mayweather because of the catch weight.
