He should have demanded more as he was fighting an outed PED cheat who has been cheating for YEARS. Watch the build Cheatenelo had versus Miguel Cotto's craptastic brother and what he looks like now.

The boxing industry doesn't investigate Alvarez because he is the straw that stirs the boxing drink but his drinks are full of roofies.

That’s true but in gggs case he has little to no leverage. If he is willing to make the right he has to abide... time isn’t in his side and that’s his biggest factor

I hope Canelo doesn't give him the fight. Golovkin has used Canelo to gain fortune and has done nothing but try and damage Canelo's name in the process. Canelo owes the hype job nothing. He beat and embarrassed the hype job at his own game in the rematch.

I think that was Spence a couple of years back, right after he fought and beat Brook I believe.

Oscar Delahoya offered, not officially, by that meaning he didn't send an actuallu contract but tweeted that he could make Canelo vs Spence and Spence could get 20 mil for that fight.

Spence replied in a tweet saying "never accept the first offer".

Meaning that he was willing to negotiate but wanted more than 20 mil.

I think Spence thought he was being business savy whereas he was just being a plain idiot.

These fighters have no concept of reality. They all seem to live in fantasy land where money falls down from trees.

A fighter who earns about 3 mil a fight saying that he never accepts the first offer when offered 20 mil? Smh.

Nevertheless I don't think Spence was ready to move up at the time anyway, maybe he was stalling for time until he was ready to move up, to clean out welterweight first.

He obviously didn't factor in the delays like Shawn Porter choosing to fight Ugas first before unfiying with him and Haymon forcing him to fight Mikey Garcia in the meantime.

Or the pandemic and the car crash.

Manny Pacquaio beating Thurman and then refusing to fight him, or Thurman stalling as long as he did.

A lot of things can delay your progress.

Don't think the poor guy imagined he would still have unfinished business at 147lbs at age 30.

He probably thought he would have cleaned out 147lbs and 154lbs by now and be getting ready to move up to his more natural weight at 160.

That line of reasoning I could agree with and I do agree they can make that happen

he has less leverage than Canelo but at the same time, Canelo stands to make way more money vs Ggg than he can vs anyone else. Also there’s also the fact that I’d think canelo would want to get a controversy free win over ggg which at ggg’s age, he has a shot to do. While ggg doesn’t have a big signature win on paper and that’d help his legacy, canelo would benefit as well. Canelo may not want to admit it but many people will always say he never truly beat ggg if their rivalry ends here.
