just like smarter posters have been saying for a long time !
Lol I don't really read Bread, but each man is entitled to his own opinion. I used to read some of his columns, then I read something crazy that he said and I haven't read him since.

How low is the bar for Canelo, that people really try to say he didn't catch 2 Ls in those 2 fights...

If you wanted to, you could pick apart almost any boxers career. Just look into it hard enough and pick and choose the facts that you want to make your case, intentionally ignore the facts that don’t support your case. I’ve seen it done with regards to all top fighters. You name it. Crawford. Canelo. Mayweather. Pacquiao. Spence. GGG. Fury. Tank. Lomachenko.

All great fighters. Top guys. We should be thankful that we get to witness highly skilled boxers. You don’t have to watch all of them or be a fan of all of them. Yes. I understand that they all have flaws. You might not like their boxing style. None of them are perfect fighters. They will all have off nights and they aren’t always going to be boxing top ranked guys. That’s not always going to happen in this era. To tear down their entire careers or pick apart their resume and call them ‘bums’ or ‘pretenders’ or ‘fake champions’ is disgusting and I question if some of you are actually boxing fans.

I’m not accusing the thread starter by any means, but I see where this is going and this happens in just about every damn thread in NSB.

Postol win was a great one, and one that showed anyone paying attention that Bud was legit.

        Well said my friend.

Great fighter, but certainly some 'questions'

I've always said that he reminded me of a someone who goes into the settings menu and turns the difficulty down to easy before facing a boss.

I actually like Canelo. I really do. I have respect for all boxers really, and can't think of one guy I really dislike. Even Ward, who I felt was a clear 'halfway crook' who talked out of both sides of his mouth, and rarely got called on it - he is a tough smart fighter, and seems like a pretty good family man too.

My critiques of Canelo are never really emotional. To me they come about because imo I'm pretty objective about the sport/boxers on here. I see some stuff going on and you wonder why it isn't more of a mainstream view or pretty much widely accepted.

I just think it's funny how some people on here never even entertain the situation with him - that as the super A side, he can really make whatever fight he wants, on whatever terms he wants even, sometimes. And will not have to excel in the fight/rounds to get the W on the cards as well. Knowing all he really has to do is be competitive for 12 rounds and he gets the W.

That will naturally lead to a lot of fights vs solid names, yet the name is not really in great form. And fights where Canelo just has to play it safe and not get dominated and he will get the W.

Basically when you are the Super A side, you can be more selective with who you fight. And make sure the cards are always stacked in your favor. And that's even before going to the judges.

I give him a lot of credit for facing GGG twice though, and even Jacobs. Seems like all of those fights were pretty much straight up fights. I think he was 1-2 in those fights, but still, he showed he was quality in all 3.

            ----

Let me put it this way, A LOT of guys would have wanted to face Callum Smith after the Ryder fight, especially if Callum had a short camp, and if you know that you are going to win if it is at all close and it goes to the cards.

His obsessive fans actually brag about this.

I appreciate his skill and don't think he needs to resort to such tactics. But the fact that he does says a lot about his character.

I guess, when you can, doing everything to avoid a loss is important. Every loss probably drops his payout $5 million per fight.
