    Now that's a lie.
DaNeutral jumping in to defend his matchroom boyfriends and trying to deflect the subject over to Fury.

    What a surprise

I don't give a *** about any of that tbh, Fury served his time and has tested clean ever since.

This threas is about the serial fibber Eddie Hearn, why did he lie about being a boxer?

I've never heard of a famous person not using their last name to try and get a leg up.

Funny how Eubank Jr, Campbell Hatton, Laila Ali all were fine using their second names but Barry Hearn is that famous it just wasn’t safe to carry the Hearn name.

      These losers defending it btw...

Its literally a non story, who gives a FKK whether he fought a few nobodies in a seriously low amateur standard level or whether he's making it up.

Its just cheap swipes by Denium who has no problem with massive lies from Fury but feels the need to throw shade on this absolute nothingness.

Cheap cheap shade throwing for the sheer sake of it.

I'm not defending him I couldn't give a toss if he did or didn't. It's a nothing story and your being cheap. You hate the man so much, he's such a massive scum bag surely you can find some real dirt on him. This is just pointless crap. Lazy hating from you.

I obviously have no idea if it's true or not but it doesn't make sense to lie about something like this and it does make sense that you would try boxing if your father was a boxing promoter. I also think it makes sense to use a fake name so there's no pressure in the early days while you test out the waters to see if you're any good or not.

I've never been a fan of Hearn but I find the level of hate he and other promoters get is a bit strange. I've never understood why people seem to pick a promoter to be a fan of and hate on others almost like they're football teams or something.

You don't care about whether a champion heavyweight took performance enhancing drugs... but you do care whether a promoter had an amateur fight in his teens? Odd priorities there.

Fwiw, I boxed inter club as a teen. There wouldn't be a record of it anywhere. They just put you up against a decent age and weight match. When it was done, it was done.

People are saying "why would Hearn lie?"

If you spend enough time dealing with liars you realise logic is overrated. Some people don't need a logical reason to lie. Remember after Patrick Day died Hearn did a video crying about it saying the sport needs to be safer? But then when Whyte fails a drug test and has questionable gloves, Hearn makes sure the fight goes ahead anyway. Did he care about Day's life but it's ok for Rivas to risk his in an unfair fight? Is he a psychopath pretending to care about Day to get attention for himself or something? I don't see a clear logic to his thinking, he just seems like a scumbag and an attention seeker.

If I was guessing, I'd say Hearn lied about having boxed as it makes him look ever so slightly less like a spoiled rich kid who has never been in a fight or struggled for anything. "At least I laced 'em up, at least I took punches and didn't quit". Claiming to be undefeated as well, of course he's gonna say that.

Another reason he may have lied is that people who always want the cameras on them need to have stories to tell. "No never boxed" is a very short boring story, but him boxing but not being that good but being underfeated but using a false name because blah blah means the cameras keep rolling a few minutes longer

                    he lied

He said he give it a go but he was rubbish, but that’s a lie and done in a way to endear himself to boxing folk. Like he had the bollocks to give it a go but with humour in it because he was no good.

He knows people will lap that up because they still respect he tried it, but keeps his “zany” personality in tact with the fake name and lack of ability, to make it believable and a good story.

Anybody with a bit more than basic intelligence can read Eddie like a book when it comes to things like this.

I dunno, I know I'm like half his size and would floor him with one. It'd look funny.
