"i boxed as an amateur but i was crap, i didnt use my last name"

    or

"God spoke to me whilst i was in my lambo/ferrari about to commit suicide because i was depressed despite having everything i could ever ask for"
"I decend from cyrus the great"
an irish traveller with zero romani blood, claiming romani heritage but somehow that also includes being a bloodline decendant of cyrus the great..and he knows all of this how?

If you spend enough time dealing with liars you realise logic is overrated. Some people don't need a logical reason to lie. Remember after Patrick Day died Hearn did a video crying about it saying the sport needs to be safer? But then when Whyte fails a drug test and has questionable gloves, Hearn makes sure the fight goes ahead anyway. Did he care about Day's life but it's ok for Rivas to risk his in an unfair fight? Is he a psychopath pretending to care about Day to get attention for himself or something? I don't see a clear logic to his thinking, he just seems like a scumbag and an attention seeker.

If I was guessing, I'd say Hearn lied about having boxed as it makes him look ever so slightly less like a spoiled rich kid who has never been in a fight or struggled for anything. "At least I laced 'em up, at least I took punches and didn't quit". Claiming to be undefeated as well, of course he's gonna say that.

Another reason he may have lied is that people who always want the cameras on them need to have stories to tell. "No never boxed" is a very short boring story, but him boxing but not being that good but being underfeated but using a false name because blah blah means the cameras keep rolling a few minutes longer
pretty much spot on. im sure your on the hearniacs hitlist now, expect to be constantly quoted and attacked by the likes of sidknee, ****em & the rest of the cripple crew, who would suck off Hearn like his dong contained the elixir of life

I’m sure it’s the truth just like all of his other claims

Totally normal for an amateur boxer to use a pseudonym

Barry Hearn was barely even known back then and is barely known now to be honest.

Hardly an A Lister is he.

Eddie is more known and famous than his dad ever was.

Yeah I’m a fan of Fury but that story is about the Lamborghini is abit wild

Fury has his share of stories that don’t seem believable.

Nick Cage (born Coppola) is the only example I can think of off the top of my head for someone who changed their name going into a career as to not seem favoured due to family name.

Don’t forget Marvis Frazier, son of one of the best and most popular heavyweight champs of all time.

But yeah, Eddie needed a pseudonym
