Joe has a lousy jab. He doesn't snap it out straight, he sorta pushes it half-way then extends it. It seems to work though!
He is such a huge, powerful, athletic guy that he seems to get away with doing even the basics wrong.
There is no one way to throw a jab . Lewis in the link showing Wilder uses the same jab .
joe can beat any fighter in the world, without question. his whole career people have doubted him, even as an amateur, i even remember some clowns saying he picked too hard an opponent for his pro debut and people really thought some novice could beat him last fight . people are saying joe cant compete with fury and joshua based on eye test, but when you are in the ring with joe you arent going to be given the room to look your best trust me, joes gonna be coming straight forward round after round with a jab strong enough to break an eyesocket, do people realise how demoralising it is for your best shots to just bounce straight off joe? 2 rounds in you could see the look of terror in dubois's eyes, knowing the gas tank is emptying, the shots are being eaten like a packet of haribo and joe is only just getting warmed up!!!
Why is Luis Ortiz ranked 3 in the WBC and 5 in the Ring ratings ? Isn’t that an actual speculation. Can you tell me what the difference is besides being in the top 5 in both ?
No one outside Wilder fans believed that Dubois would have defeated A.J.
That's a fault of the ranking system that Ortiz is still there (there should be a rule you need to keep beating top quality fighters or you lose points) but Ortiz got to no. 5 in the first place by beating good fighters. When Ortiz beat Jennings - Jennings was peak Jennings. Not the faded Jennings Joyce beat. Also Ortiz hasn't lost to anyone below him in the rankings. And you could argue he held his own again st the no. 2 (at the time) Wilder
At the same time you can't argue Joyce has beaten better fighters than Ortiz has. He clearly hasn't - yet
Joyce already beat Stiverne, Jennings, Dubois. I guess he deserves a shot.
I mean, we live in era, when guys like Duhaupas, Molina, Breazeale, Ortiz all got title shots.
Dubois looked basic against Joyce. I'm sure he will improve now he has lost but he was just going backwards and forwards in straight lines with almost no head movement. He looks like a monster and has huge physical prescence but who has Dubois beat up to this point?? Is there anyone even in the (real) top-20?
Your 2nd point is true but we also live the era when people like Whyte fight and beat 4 top-10 opponents and don't get shots.
As a Joyce fan I'd want him to take a step-up fight before taking on a champion. Not sure why you guys want to rush him. Look at what happened with Smith/Canelo. Smith had never fought anyone anywhere near as good. Probably won't get another chance now. Joyce is also hugely vulnerable to a big puncher. He gets hit hard in the face every fight. He won't get away with that against someone like Wilder and AJ and Fury could easily outbox him

Jennings was green when he fought both Klitschko and Ortiz he also had Rivas if not for the last round mishap . There is no evidence Jennings was shot in the Joyce fight in fact I remember him training very hard and punching tires ,the same shot he caught Joyce early with but Joyce adapted and was unhurtable after round one .
Ortiz hasn’t won a top fight in what’s going on 6 years what will be so the rankings don’t remotely work like that ,but you know this and shows no validity in either ranking criteria.
You make some good points. I think Joe's people have to tread carefully. He definitely needs one or two more fights before he gets in for the title. I'd go after the winner of Fa v Parker. Equally, having beaten Dubois he mustn't stagnate. I am not going to slaughter their managers because I understand it is ridiculously difficult in these most unusual times, but look at Robert Helenius & Otto Wallin & you see 2 guys that had a bit of momentum going in their careers, waited on it, & now have gone back to being in the huge herd of H/W fringe contenders on the outside looking in. Joe can't afford to be one of those jealous & dissatisfied bison.
Inclined to agree, would look forward to seeing in him against Usyk if Josh is forced to vacate to fight Fury.
JJ's come on a lot in the last 7 years since facing Usyk, especially his jab. Where to be honest, Usyk's kind of stagnated. He's not nearly as elusive at HW as I thought he would be. Chisora shouldn't be landing like he did against a boxer/mover at World level.
All points to a far more intriguing settler than Josh/Fury vs Usyk. Can actually see JJ wearing him down, don't think Usyk has the length or power in his levers to jab JJ's head off and keep him at bay.
Compubox had Chisora landing 22% of his shots. (11% of his jabs) How elusive do you want him be? Everyone gets hit.

True but a prime Chisora landed a lot less on a prime Haye before being emphatically starched in 5. That's another issue, power. There's a reason why only Holyfield and Haye won World titles at HW from Cruiser.

Haye benefited from a weak era, and Holy benifited from pharmaceuticals.
