Never had the pleasure to watch Randall fight as in the early to late 90s as a teenager I was really in to the UK scene with Eubank, Watson, Benn etc and the HW division but I will watch his best fights on youtube tonight sounds like he had a career to be proud of RIP ChampComment

I remember watching the Randall fight at the house of my older brother's friend. I was fairly young but I realized the significance of what he was able to do against someone with the stature of Chavez.
So long ago, godspeed and rest in peace Champ.Comment

Damn man, the sport giveth, the sport taketh away.
I was so shocked that they actually gave Chavez's 0 to him after what happened with Pernell.
Dude was a solid vet
Just looked and saw that he kept fighting until 2005.
I hadn't heard of him after the mid '90s or so.
Guys gotta have a back up plan, so they're not fighting into their late 30s and 40s, jeez.Comment

Holy Shit the man who managed to dethrone and hand his first loss to one off my all time favorite fighters has now sadly departed...Frankie Randall, who won three junior welterweight world titles and handed the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez his first defeat, died on Wednesday after a prolonged battle with dementia and brain damage as a result of a 22-year professional boxing career. He was 59.
