Didn't Plant already turn Canelo down twice? Even plants wife and mom knows Canelo beats him.

Plant did turn the fight down twice. His OWN words not Canelo fans.

He got PPV upside against Smith? What were the PPV numbers?

He got a higher base pay, $25.5 million but no PPV upside

Seen a lot of people mentioning he got paid more for the Smith fight ($25.5 million) but leaving out the PPV upside he would've gotten with a Plant fight

$25M is just the guarantee. I'm sure there would be a PPV percentage on top of that. Maybe he knows he's not as big a draw as he once was, and he won't make much above that $25M? Especially if his opponents are demanding 8-figures as well.

tell me that isnt based on your xenophobic hate when you start saying 'hearniacs' and all that?

read this properly, pay attention to my overall points.

                    1) google trend results, which i linked you, showed you fury was more searched at the time.

i dont say this to score points, im just laughing at how wilder fell for it so easily. he was manipulated by espn's propaganda.
                    chess not checkers right?

so long story short, wilder himself bragged after rejecting the dazn offer that 'im da most searcheded on da google' (yes i am mocking his ******ity).

did espn want AJ vs Wilder? of course not. they wanted fury vs wilder to built towards the winner (fury) vs AJ for far more money.

                    2)
it isnt just about being a great athlete and doing big things in the US. it's about marketing and manipulation.
espn/ufc will market the **** out of masvidal, before it was tony ferguson. they can create new 'stars' in this manner by pushing them so they dominate social media trends..and then people think 'omg everyone is talking about..' (they arent).
even the comments/posts can be manipulated.

simultaneosly they can manipulate google trends through bots...and as a consequence of the higher ranking (despite not being done the legit way) it only increases the social media/website/video rankings of the person.

you know how seo works right? literally if google's system thinks 'this word/name is being searched a lot' it will in turn push that word/name higher up on all its related platforms esp youtube.
twitter and facebook can also be manipulated in the same manner.
you can of course also spend a lot of money pushing ads to organically grow their ranking.

eitherway the growth here isnt truely organic, it is manipulated by the money and efforts spent by promoters and networks.

don't start thinking 'damn this guy really is popular, ppl search for him' (and i even inc AJ in this whole argument btw).

                    3) since you were calling me a hearniac, check this out
when aj was breaking out, his tickets were getting scalped instantly when they went on sale..
                    only BOTS could do that..
that is until venues like the o2 and wembley/cardiff banned that practice (which is why later the povetkin fight only did 80k rather than sell out 90k fast).

the point here is that it makes me certain eddie hearn/matchroom do operate bots with ticket scalping...and in doing so they're certainly aware of bots/rotating proxies..
im aware matchroom use twitter bots too..

so im not exactly a 'hearniac' saying that am i?

the reality is that all the promoters/networks can easily artificially pump up anyone they like through bots. they can also attack someone in the same manner and bring him/her down.
you know why they tread lightly? they dont just want to artificially pump up someone and then pay him more than his true worth.
so on some level they do need an end product from the boxer/fighter.

espn simply pushed a propaganda article to manipulate wilder..and he fell for it. simple. there's no doubt about that since fury was literally ahead of wilder in all departments at the time the article went out.
LOOOOL I get you now, are you trying to say Wilder was lured into their offer over DAZNs??? No ****ing ****. They presented a superior outlook for him. Two guaranteed fights and a potential for the realisation of massive exposure due to ESPN (really Disney's) vertical. Both the Breazeale and Ortiz fights were shown on network television and, due to the sensational knockouts, garnered Wilder a MASSIVE amount of exposure. There was no manipulation here. They were social media highlight reel knockouts and spurned lots of conversation for the impending Fury rematch. It was actually a great play by both Wilder and moreso Fury, instead of rushing into a rematch build up larger profiles in the US (proven by the fact both of Fury's bumfights happened in Vegas) and then stage a megafight afterwards. DAZN, like most things promoted by that silver spoon chalatan Hearn, is looking more and more like a white elephant and their exorbitant contracts appear to be nothing more than vaporware designed to build hype behind a brand and product with no real USP.

Its so ****ing amusing seeing another nationalistic (and likely Brexit supporting) fruitcake make out as if this, rather than Joshua's obvious corporate hypetrain (his ****ty Pulev fight was featured on BBC news FFS) is an example of media manipulation. You cite Masvidal? Seriously? Masvidal has done great work at building his own profile due to his infectious personality and his absolute annihilation of Askren in the fastest KO in UFC history. Are you seriously trying to pretend this isn't organic? I know being British means the concept of hard work and genuine coming up through you own back is foreign to you but the UFC in no way engineers stars. Guys like McGregor and Khabib earned their stripes by being the fastest two weight champion and most dominant welterweight respectively. Hypejobs in the UFC are found out extremely quickly.

The ****ing irony. Considering Joshua may be the most artificially inflated fighter out here in the UK right now since Bruno. His fans (and their fellow Hearniacs) are ****ing delusional to project onto people like Masvidal and Wilder who've had to earn their exposure the ****ing hard way.

Flat fees are junk for the most part. Pretty much the same reason Wilder turned down his too. I thought this was something everyone learned back in the Pacman Mayweather days.
