Sad case that guy. I wasnt a fan of Lopez until he faced Salido the second time.
He tried to make adjustments and attempted to box for a few rounds but when that didnt work, he said *** it and got down again. I just saw something in him on that night that made me a fan forever.
Love the attitude and how he's handling it, but that's the second time he gets upset by an inferior opponent he was dominating and by KO. Still rooting for him to live up to the high potential he has shown, but he seems to be something less than the sum of his parts. When things aren't going his way, he can't find a way to change it and eventually falls apart. Hope he comes back stronger.
Going into it, I thought Verdejo was the superior fighter but it was a tough style matchup in that Nakatani has a granite chin, cardiovascular endurance and underrated power. He had the very traits that would test Verdejo's question marks. Teo had his handful against him as well...I think Nakatani is just one of those guys who will always be a tough out against guys far more skilled than he is.
I don't agree, I think he sounds a bit deluded; brushing it aside as if it was just a mere slip. How is he going to fix it? He really reminds me of Khan.
Also needs to learn not every shot needs to be a power shot mix up his punches a bit better and work on his balance . He was going off balance almost every round . If he can improve all these things he'll win a belt especially once Teo moves up.
I agree with all the points you made, on the fight. He was getting off balance, because if you miss a hay maker the momentum is going to carry you. He definitely needs to work on his combination punching, that will help him maintain his balanced.

He dropped him twice and also got dropped twice but what good is any of that if he ended up getting knocked out with a jab and a bolo punch something Teofimo didn't lol.
Verdejo is talented but lacks stamina and I don't think he will ever be a champion too many heavy hitters at 135-140 he was a good amateur at least he can reflect back on that someday but he got knocked out by 2 guys who he should've dominated with ease based on his technical skills. You can't work on your chin man I don't know where you got that idea he needs to work on his defense.
You can strengthen your neck, and jaw to help absorb a punch. I'm not saying he'll never be knocked out again, that's already happened twice. What I'm saying is that his chin isn't a issue early in a fight, it's when he runs out of steam that he falls apart. I don't know if he'll ever win a title, probably he won't. I also realize that Teofimo didn't get knocked out by Nakatani, Verdejo did. What I'm saying is that Verdejo hurt Nakatani like he's never been hurt before. Nakatani has an unbelievable chin, and recuperative power. If he hadn't he would've been knocked out early in the fight. I'm looking forward to seeing Verdejo back in the ring, he's an exciting fighter. It's not wise to laugh at others misfortune, because we never know when it's our turn, and we wouldn't want anyone laughing then. It's unfortunate that Verdejo, lack's stamina in the latter rounds, and his jaw isn't sturdier. You did make some good points in your analysis, but boxers do work on their neck muscles, and jaw in order to take a better punch.
