It’s hard not to root for Verdejo. His swift offense combined with his vulnerability makes him very exciting.

I heard he has a new focus after having a baby and it showed in the fight. He fought with a do or die attitude and i think fans want to see a rematch. He deserves it.

I hope Bob throws decent money at Nakatani and brings him back.

Verdejo was doing great in that fight with Nakatani, and dropped him twice something Teofimo Lopez couldn't do. If he works on his stamina, and strengthens his neck muscles maybe he'll be able to absorb punches better. His problems have always come towards the latter rounds win he runs out of steam. Work on your stamina, and chin, you have everything else. Looking forward to him resuming his career, he's a very good fighter. Where ever there's a will there's a way, always keep punching, and never give up.

Also needs to learn not every shot needs to be a power shot mix up his punches a bit better and work on his balance . He was going off balance almost every round . If he can improve all these things he'll win a belt especially once Teo moves up.

Humble kid. He poured it on fast and heavy early and ended up being a victim to his own insufficiencies. The rematch should be good but I could see Verdejo pacing himself more and out-boxing a basic Nakatani.

When things aren't going his way, he can't find a way to change it and eventually falls apart. Hope he comes back stronger.
He wont, he isn't built for tough fights. He was all hype and I called it before his first L. He needs soft touches, he doesn't have the heart or chin to compete with the elite. He shines vs garbage, struggles with gate keepers and loses to tough fighters who can take his punches. Top LWs destroy him with ease.

He dropped him twice and also got dropped twice but what good is any of that if he ended up getting knocked out with a jab and a bolo punch something Teofimo didn't lol.

Verdejo is talented but lacks stamina and I don't think he will ever be a champion too many heavy hitters at 135-140 he was a good amateur at least he can reflect back on that someday but he got knocked out by 2 guys who he should've dominated with ease based on his technical skills. You can't work on your chin man I don't know where you got that idea he needs to work on his defense.

Verdejo asks how many champions there are that are inferior to him.

                  Really?

I would say most champions are better. They have what it takes to make it to champ status, so far Verdejo hasn't shown that he has that.

From what has been seen so far, it's tough to disagree there. The skills are there, but his toughness is a big issue. Don't think Verdejo will be an easy out for anybody, but he definitely can be beat if they can deal with his speed and power early.
