Before this past friday, I would have put money on him being shot.

He just looked done vs. Derevyanchenko.

There was actually something to him being sick with the flu after all.

I know this fight was against a nobody bum but you could tell GGG could snap his punches when he really couldn't against Derevyanchenko.
Might be way off with this - but part of me feels like GGG focused on NOT fighting with his jab against Derevy, to kind of show/see that he could fight without it. Since he got so much sh.it for using it. People kind of clowning him, saying that's all he had.

Or maybe it was something else. But yeah he just looked a lot steadier vs Kamil. Derevy a tougher matchup surely, but maybe GGG just took this one more seriously. After Derevy struggled with Culcay, GGG maybe just thought 'this guy is nothing.' I think he even said that.

Either way it looks like it was a little wake up call for GGG. He should know what he needs to do to compete now during his last hurrah.

He had to literally carry his last opponent until he retired on the stool because he lacked the energy to put him away. Canelo will probably knock him out in a trilogy fight; Let alone a Manguia.
That's saying that Mungia is better than Canelo

        Three letters:

        PBC.

It isn't that it is impossible, or even unlikely. If both stay at 160, I can see a collision course in a year or so, depending on Trip G shelf life. But hammering out a deal between the partners of DAZN, GBP, and the PBC brass and their broadcast partners would take a ton of work. I just do not see it until the dollars are bigger.

I like Munguia, and I give him a better shot to last 12 with Golovkin than most. I would love to see it.

Ryota Murata is also a sneaky good fight for Golovkin. And there may be a ton more money for that in Murata's home turf than a Munguia fight.

No, I am not. I was only referring to this current version of GGG. That Derevyancheko fight must have really ruined and aged him because he doesn't look anywhere near like the fighter he once was. I think that both Manguia and Canelo stops him at this point to be honest.

OK I got ya. I actually like Mungia better than most people do. Just seems like a real fighter.

Not sure if he is ready for this step up yet but it would be a fun fight.

To me he looked lethargic but that could be athletic decline. he just could not pull the trigger in time. Shots didn't flow right. He seemed slower. usually that's the beginning of being shot. I think maybe the flu and that both played a factor but we will not know until he does get in there with a top 5 kind of guy again.

No, age and the Canelo fights did that.

Feel bad for almost all of GBP roster cause now GBP gonna be pushing fights for them that werent even on the radar before. Mungunia gonna get thrown to GGG for the NOW VIEWS at expense of most likely Mungunia future.

GGG beats him badly. I have always seen Munguia as some overrated guy.

But what other choice does he have? If he wants a big fight, he must fight GGG.

Munguia is a kid with experience, but he never fought anybody on GGG`s level. he was managed carefully so far.

You cited Hopkins as an example and he's far from a power puncher. Just stop it jack a ss
A few different scenarios.B Hop was no KO guy but his skills allowed him to last that long. For GG to fight at least until he's 43 he would be depending on power for Ko's. U do realize he's straight up with no bells, whistles or special effects and can easily be hit up the middle right? Also, what's with the silly name's coming out of ur mouth. How old are u?
