He got shutdown theirs a difference.

If he had quit he woudnt have kept missing those big hooks almost every round.

I couldn't understand the plan. Touching Canelo and moving backwards in a straight line. How was that going to impact the fight? Early on he just seemed happy to be registering some light shots while losing rounds.

But that's not quitting, that's just being levels below your opponent. Then he took a beating, stayed on his feet, and kept throwing back. Not a quitter.
Yeah going backwards to the ropes and covering up was a bad idea, especially since Canelo was still disciplined enough avoid Smith's attempts to catch and counter.

This is why despite his constant antics and ******ity...I cant help but massively appreciate a guy like Fury. Our culture really doesn't invoke a sense of grit or survival when the odds are stacked against one. Fury was unique in being on the few UK based fighters to traverse the world for challengers and come out on top. Too many boxers end up getting lauded for facile, tentative and just pedestrian performances...in fact when exceptional talent does come alone we actually tend to start hating on them.

Canelo is a ****ing beast but I actually thought Smiths size and reach would pose an interesting challenge for Canelo...never expected to see such a significantly bigger man end up getting backed up so effortlessly.

This looked a lot like last night honestly I don't know why the Ryder fight was Brushed off and Ignored when it exposed and laid the blue print on how you beat Callum and Canelo Picked up where Ryder left off basically

Posted for weeks how he just doesn't fight Tall but damn he is also even SLOWER than I thought but also it was Canelo he made him look Slow, Stiff and WEAK. Didn't take the Canelo fight for me to see all the FLAWS that Canelo would obviously Exploit and he did.

Smiling and Laughing with Canelo while getting his ass BEAT. That 12 Round was really pathetic, you way down and he is on his Backfoot and Clinching like he is was the one fighting with the Lead while Canelo was still aggressive in the 12 trying to stop him. Back to British Level, keep that BULLSH^T over their! Kinda makes me not want to see Canelo vs BJS unless BJS gets a Top Level Win vs Andrade, Plant, GGG or whoever FIRST

Sorry, not good enough, I don't want to see you big 6'3" Don running away from a midget and only throwing little pit pat shots no commitment and looking at the clock

Theres quitting without actually saying the words, go out flat on your back or just admit you aren't in there to win and say the words I quit.

Smith in that third round should have said OK, I can't win this one on points, it's me or him someone's going out flat on their back, and marched forward, chin to chest and thrown hell for leather until someone got stretchered out.

Smith didn’t quit at all. The only time in the whole fight he didn’t look to punch back was in the final 90 seconds where he twice jumped into hold. It was a very spirited performance from someone who was clearly losing the fight (particularly as the rounds went on). He surprised me with his determination.

Gallagher is a rubbish trainer, was totally overrated over here for a period of time.
