Canelo is just a beast. He did the same to Golovkin in the second fight.

      He didn't quit at all.

I don't think he did enough in the early rounds, but who wants to trade with Canelo? I'm not quite sure what the game plan was but there isn't a version of Smith that beats a version of Canelo.

He was throwing right to the end (well nearly the end, he just wanted to survive the last minute).

Just didn't have the shots that could trouble Canelo. Not on his level - or even close. But not many are though.

The guy just took 12 rounds of punishment from a guy who hits hard. I think it's a bit rich for people on here to call him a quitter.

I think he took two or three low shots too. A quitter would have taken a knee and rolled the dice on getting a rest. He didn't; he just winced and got on with it.

I don't know if he hurt his hand or something but it didn't just look like his physical checked out, it seemed to me that his mental also checked out pretty early in the fight. Everytime he let his hands go he looked like he really could do some damage but he just chose not to and chose to survive. His body language in the corner was that of someone who didn't want to be there. He definitely wasn't willing to walk through the fire for that fight and he's gonna cry about it for decades later even if the fight was fixed and he got paid. He really went out like a punk tonight.

cong**** to Canelo though! tremendous fighter! he was missing a little but more than i was expecting but it's probably because of the long layoff, he's gonna be even better in his next fight.

He was just shocked that Canelo walked through his best shots and then walked him down.

Many fighters lose to Canelo before they even get into the ring.

Callum Smith is a huge puncher i cant fathom Canelo chin walked down GGG, Kovalev and now Smith.

Truly remarkable he doesn't have one punch KO power like Tyson but he batters fighters over rounds and just makes them quit or go into their shell they are scared to trade with him.

Also the sound of his punches just a loud heavy thud they sound like cricket bats hitting leather.

Looks like he has a detached bicep or something from some pics, that could explain it. That said, he could’ve let his corner pull him out when they suggested it. So he never really quit.

It wouldn’t have mattered anyway, he was simply beaten by a better fighter and knew it in the ring.

It wasn’t much different from Canelo v Floyd in that respect. There was a point in about round 7 in that fight where Canelo knew he couldn’t win v Floyd. He was still throwing, as Smith was, but the belief wasn’t there.

He did it because he had too, either stay at home and get no money or take it and make career high payday...

Canelo has that leverage, he's training for the guy for months, he knows the opponent, but they don't get notified until the 11th hour. It's a take it or leave it, very smart strategy from Canelo ... also helps with drug testing.
Yeah sad but true . anyone who thought smith had chamce never seen em fight before n then add into he was a hypejob(british ppl only) who took the fight on 4 weeks notice 6 thousand miles away g.t.f.o.h anybody who bet $ on smith was on drugs or just super rich with $ to blow. Canelo fight only worth watching would be benavidez n beterbiev also plant would be good. Just feel the british 168 champs were grossly overhyped . you can have all the technical ability n know hows yet if your weak n not athletic as well it only works on b level fighters n below ryder groves fielding eubanks lol
