Unpopular Opinion: Canelo beats Prime Hagler

WHo do you think wins in an all out brawl till death ggg or hagler just asking

Hagler of course. Ggg jabbing wouldn't get it done,we now know hes incapable of standing & going full on" mexican style" rockem sockem robots, Because he can dish it out but can't take it when Canelo beat him like that. Ggg would abandon everything but the jab,& straight right arm punches with lil on them. Hagler would have handled him with ease in that type of fight imho,the only fight ggg would want to fight Hagler in would be in a defensive 1st fight. Canelo would be able to go rockem sockem with Hagler much better than Ggg imo, Because Canelos bread & butter is dodging & blocking then potshotting combos. Gggs best punch is his jab,Canelos is the left hook.

But you have remember prime ggg and his relentless pressure.He had good footwork scary power and scary bodyshots i think it would be a good fight

It is kind of weird how people give Canelo no shot against Hagler and even suggesting Hagler stops him with ease.

Hagler had flaws as well as do 99% of boxers. You would be completely biased in Haglers favor to suggest that Canelo would not be able to stand and trade with him. If anything, stylistacally Canelo would be better suited for a firefight because he has a way tighter defense, quicker reflexes and superior handspeed.

The main advantage Hagler would have is stamina, but he would have to absolutely go through hell trying to grind Canelo down. Which is possible....but as shown these past few years, Canelo is no easy guy to put down.

I have Canelo beating Hagler because at the end of the day....Canelo is a bigger, far more disciplined version of Duran, and Duran gave Hagler a damn near 50-50 fight.

Another thing to mention is that Canelo's handspeed is what cuts down his opponents output. The more you throw the more openings you give him. The bwst style to beat Canelo is a traditional boxing point style or a sharpshooter that is quicker than him.

Golovkin's traditional midrange boxing style with that accurate jab is what gave Canelo so much trouble along with his footwork. It is also how Mayweather dismantled him so easy even when you factor in that he was not as experienced yet. Mayweather held a huge reflex advantage and had the boxing IQ to sharpshoot him.
