He signed to fight an old ass C level thats washed up from being C level,& of course he had no problems signing with less time than hed have had Vs Canelo when he was fresher too(after sparring a bellhop in Nashville)

Its glorious watching Canelos haters defending this clown like:"hes a top fighter rated...." GTFOH

It cracks me up how the same few shtting on Canelo for yet again going after all the smoke,using excuses about"not giving them enough time to train"(like both fighters aren't supposed to train yr rd & like they have a choice but stay training & take short notice fights during pandemic) are the same few who defend ALL their fav hypejobs & their bumfights.

Fighting Truax instead of Canelo.

As much as I flame on Plant for not wanting Canelo in several occasions, this is the best fight for Plant to get the Canelo fight. Benavidez messed up Haymon’s business with the WBC twice. Because of that, Haymon seems to be a man or meritocratic order, and we know Plant wouldn’t want to just defend his belt against David since Unification would’ve brought more money. This way, Plant would rather lose to Canelo and make a bigger payday.

So I can’t hate on Plant for that. Besides, the IBF would order it anyways. He’s doing the GGG route. The difference is that Plant can’t unify with BJS nor has a shot at the WBC, so he has to wait for more fights.

the real problem are Canelo haters. They are all ******. We saw that era with Floyd.

No, truax shouldnt fight for a title.
That he still is ranked #6 is a testament of how bad that weightclass is currently.

Truax last win at 168 was in december 2017. How can he still be ranked #6? That win was btw. Against Degale and then he proceeded to lose the rematch.

Even in his last fight at 175, he would have drew with a random journeyman if the other guy wasn't penalized for hitting behind the head.

Fought once in 2020 and won by MD. The draw against the journeyman as you call it was his first taste at 175 ever. Was he expected to fight top 10 immediately?

All of his losses have come by World champions or former world champions (Jermain Taylor, Danny Jacobs, Dirrell, Degale). Prior to his win/loss to Degale, Degale was hit his peak beating Dirrel, Bute, porky Medina, Badou Jack. He is also ranked #3 by the IBF and 13 by WBC.

Plant was tossed around as a name for the next Canelo fight but he was passed up for Callum Smith. Billy Joe Saunders just fought 2 weeks ago, Lemieux October, Jacobs November, Shiskin August, Martin Murray December, Berlanga last week, Benevidez August. Please inform me who he was supposed to fight. I’ve just named most of the top cats in the division and none right now are unifying due to Covid.

Lastly, given your criteria Pac man should not have gotten anywhere close to Thurman’s title. Lost to Horn, fought Mathyesse and Broner (less than top 10 or worthy opposition for titles) then lands Thurman and actually wins.

I said his last win at 168 was in 2017 december. He then lost vs degale. Fought a bum at 175. He wasnt supposed to fight a top10 guy right away, but he wasnt supposed to barely scrap by.
No contest vs quillin and then proceeded to nearly losing vs a journeyman. Hardly, a convincing argument to be a challenger.

I also dont mind truax if plant didnt fight feigenbutz and ****ing mike lee prior to this.

Lionel Thompson is coming off a good win. Shishkin fighting in august isnt an argument for not fighting in january. There were talks about eubank wanting the fight.
All better than a 37 year old whose last decent win was in 2017. I even like steven nelson better at this stage of boths respective career.

Regarding the degale win, it's a matter of opinion but jack beat the prime out of degale. He looked considerably worse since then. It's still a good win for truax though.

The people that hate on Plant obviously hasn't paid attention to the guy. He probably has the best footwork at 168 and is a natural boxer with decent pop. If given the chance he could possibly take over the division IMO. I think Benavidez is top dog at 168 and Canelo would be a great fight for Plant. Other than those 2 I think Plant beats them all.
