I'm sort of on the fence.

The division isn't trash at all, people talk of Wladamir Klitschko in hushed tones as some sort of mythical beast when in his prime guys like Chris Areolla and Eddie Chambers were top guys. With the likes of Hasim Rahman still hanging around

We have good heavyweights around today, a lot of good prospects coming through, big athletic guys

Getting tired of hearing this division is rubbish tbh because it clearly isnt

I'd say yes. What I saw against Wilder was heavyweight greatness.

I think he'd be a force in any HW era. You just dont get 6'9, 250+lb'ers that can box like that normally.

Bit of both to be honest, fury looks like he would be handful for any champ of any era but the fact you have people like pulev, chisora and povetkin all in big fights 5 years past their primes tells you about the division as a whole.

              He’s that good

His style and size would’ve made him a top fighter in any era. His skill set is really complete too. He can fight backwards, forwards, inside, outside, orthodox, southpaw. Great feet for distance control, really high ring IQ etc. All those attribute plus his size make him difficult for anyone in history, win or lose. Also the bigger the fight, the better he seems to be. His biggest flaw is fighting to the level of opposition, but you can only do that when you have lots of a ability.

You don’t dethrone guys like Klitschko unless you have serious ability. And he looks an even better fighter now, showing even more sides to his game.

You put it into perspective and you can see he's great. He's doing things that you shouldn't be able to do at his size. He's also simply born for this, very long limbs, short torse, hard skull and the ability to ignore pain and display heart.

He has also beaten 2 of 3 great heavyweights of his era. His resume is not deep but better than most because he beat who matters. Only AJ remains from his record.

I agree with this and honestly until somebody else beats Wilder I still say he is in top 3 of the division. It's easy to call him a bum but Fury could just be that good too.

Its the big man era, they were better fighters from Lewis back, Wilder is one of the worst boxers to win titles technically speaking Ive ever seen, I can see prime Ali toying with him, its just a different level of ability.

Fury is big doesnt mean he is great, I think AJ is the best HW boxer ability wise right now and he is chinny.

The size of them today means they come out of a smaller demographic so the average ability cant be as high but the best of them will shine over their group, doesnt mean anything other than they the best of the bunch at the time.

In this deal size really does matter.
