Is Fury really as great as people make him out to be or is the division just trash?

The size of them today means they come out of a smaller demographic so the average ability cant be as high but the best of them will shine over their group, doesnt mean anything other than they the best of the bunch at the time.

In this deal size really does matter.

Tell me some heavyweights with all those attributes I named, which wasn’t including his size.

The guy beat the 2 longest reigning champs of the last 15 years and he beat them in two very different ways.

We have good heavyweights around today, a lot of good prospects coming through, big athletic guys

Getting tired of hearing this division is rubbish tbh because it clearly isnt
Funny when you say that when 41 y/o Klitschko almost knocked AJ the F out

I've always said that Fury is a great fighter and a special talent.

After AJ, i'm confident that nobody will be able to deny it.

It’s definately not trash and fury is good. But to the first point - he is massively overrated by many, and particularly on this forum. People always lean to the last fight and in the last fight he beat wilder so many think he’s the worlds greatest.

Look a bit deeper to see a full portfolio of his fights though, he could easily have lost to wilder in the first fight.

He could easily have lost to Klitschko (his performance appears to have got better and better over time!) - his actually performance against Klitschko really wasn’t as great as it was made out ; if anyone can stand the boredom watch it in full again. For the rematch that fury never gave, Klitschko was favourite again for a reason.

Who else has fury fought, well literally - chisora and that’s it really. He’s had fights he’s been lucky to be given the points victory and knocked down by cruiser weights. He has improved of course but he is far from invincible.

He beat the best of his bunch, I dont think much of the bunch.

Ali had the same attributes but he fought killers, I dont see todays HWs being in the same class as other eras, I think this is the era of giants and they different to the past smaller faster more busy.

The smaller the fighter the better the quality, go through all the divisions from bottom to top there is changing ratio in ability speed power endurance all the way through, the past HWs fought closer to the lower weight guys than the super HWs of today, its a different level of boxing.

The division is sub par. Fury has beaten 2 Ring Magazine ranked opponents, and only one of them was under the age of 36. There is your problem.

Thankfully there is some talent on the way up. The bottom of the top ten is very thin.

Only idiots believe this. It’s a very brutal and dangerous sport - no one does this.

Styles make fights and Fury struggles against the styles that have given him problems. Put any bum in there that has good movement and a left hook and Fury will struggle. Or any big guy like a Wach that he can’t maul and he’ll struggle.

                    None of the options above.

Fury is good but not as good as advertised with all the hype. If you think Wilder is a good boxer - that means you’ll have to overrate Fury because he completely destroyed the guy. However, I’ve always maintained that Wilder is a bum and that his right hand is exaggerated based on the people he fought. And it’s the reason why I picked Fury to spark him if he could step into his punches since Wilder has no chin and he’s very fragile. So I still have Fury where I’ve always had him - the Wilder fight didn’t show me anything.

The era also isn’t weak - it’s another golden era in HW boxing. AJ and Fury would be champions in any era - too big, skilled and strong. Povetkin, Ruiz, Pulev and Whyte would be solid contenders in any era. Then you have the solid talents coming through the ranks.

p4p King. The greatest HW of all time and would crush prime Mike Tyson like a g**** whilst boxing Buster Douglas around the ring in between rounds. We all know he'd put Lennox Lewis down too, and one thing about Lennox is when he's down, he's out.
