If Ruiz can get in shape (for him) and have some good wins, then the AJ fight will be there for him. But I think the stink of his rematch still exists so he needs to do something to fix it.

I do expect AJ to lose the two fights to Fury so after that, there is a list of fights for AJ if he wants to carry on. Wilder, Whyte, Ruiz, Joyce etc. Assuming none of them fall off (I'm sure one or two will).
If wilder doesn’t get the rematch now with fury it’s quite probable he fights AJ rather than fury.

If AJ beats fury - he not only holds all the belts but wilder is probably the biggest name opponent people will want to see him against.

If fury beats AJ then the narrative will be that both lost to fury but who is better. It’s still likely that there is big money on the line as more people follow AJ than fury

Joshua has several options right now. He doesnt need Ruiz but a rubbermatch could be interesting depending on how Ruiz looks in his next fight.
I may very well be setting myself up for disappointment once again with Ruiz, but I saw a video of him a week or 2 ago in camp with Reynoso. I think being around Valdez, Garcia, and Alvarez will motivate him to push himself. At least I am hoping it does

At the same time, I saw him about three weeks ago at a dispensary that I go to.. LA Kush, and he walked out with couple of ounces with a big ole smile on his face lol.

Ruiz is Chris Arreola 2.0. They like to talk about getting in shape and it never seems to materialize. Ruiz will not beat anyone in the top 5 again the rest of his career.

Lmao hey, he a heavyweight tho. As long as he can blaze and not overly stuff his face, I think he will be straight. Kid got them hands, all he needs is discipline.

That explains why he eats so much & binges on weightgain 4000

(btw I'm in the extreme minority that says Ruiz weight wasn't why he lost it was because AJ bought the ref to break them up whenever Ruiz got close, the ref would push Ruiz as far apart as I've ever seen a ref do(its undebatable imo the ref was fixed)

& to make it worse AJ brought a ring from Dragonball Z that was like 150 feet wide,& AJ literally just touched Ruiz a few more times while running like a scared pssy,& then acted as if he just outpointed Ali in a calculated schooling, when in fact Ruiz was only outlanded in jabs if I recall

(AJ showed me in that fight & vs Pulev that hes rubbish & won't stand a chance vs Fury or dare I say it Wilder because hes scared shtless of getting hit & has become the boxing version of a racecar driver that got in a horrible wreck & drives scared)

Yea he is one of those fat guys whose speed is deceiving and he can get away with alot more sht outside the ring being a HW and all but he literally went from thousandaire to millionaire overnight. It’s gonna be tough to get motivated.

HW division is weak and if Ruiz got serious, he could beat anybody.

I think he should gun for Wilder after tuneup.

Ruiz loses for giving him a rematch in the first place. Rematches are for tightly contested/controversial fights, not utter and complete obliteration.
