Agreed, I think he has decent skills but just not the IQ or natural ability to adapt on the fly. Whereas Fury is born and bred boxer, he can ditch all the rules and come back to them when he needs them.

Fury is clearly the more skilled boxer but he probably wont KO AJ.

Sound like Roach don't know who they are.

Why would he pick feather duster Fury by KO? Wilder was dead for 3 rounds and Fury couldn't finish him. He hit Wallin with clean shots all fight and couldn't stop him.

You don’t need Froch to tell you if you’re boxing buff - with no bias - that AJ is more skilled than Fury. He does all the basic better than Fury. Has a much more advanced variety of punches in his repertoire. His shot selection is better when he’s not throwing caution in the wind when he hurts boxers. He’s quicker/faster. He’s much more accurate. And his foot speed and movement are very underrated.

A guy like Fury who has been a pro for almost 14yrs, yet can’t put a combination together without looking like a doppelgänger. And some idiots think he’s the most skilled since Ali because he has a bit of upperbody movement - hilarious. The only edge Fury has is experience which helps with boxing IQ - that’s where it ends. However, better boxing IQ alone can’t win you a fight against a bigger puncher with discipline that can stick to a game plan. And Teofimo Lopez should that against Lomachenko.

Then again, this is a forum populated by casuals who just parrot whatever hype they hear from idiot due to hate. A few months ago, it was about how Dubois who’s Bruno-lite would spark AJ until the slow robot, Joyce, beat him to a pulp with one hand. Last year, it was about how AJ can’t box and how he’ll get sparked by Ruiz in rematch until Ruiz lost in a shout-out and was thoroughly outbox whilst getting pot-shot all night. Then the excuse shifted to Ruiz not training, lol. A month ago - it was about how Yoka who’s the HW Amir Khan can beat AJ until he went life/death against a washed up Hammer. Once upon a time it was about Wilder sparking him until the fat gypo destroyed the bum. Then it was about new Dillian Whyte beating AJ until he got sparked by Povetkin. And they also claimed Parker would beat him. LMAOOO. These useless casuals are the insufferable gift that keeps on giving, lol.

Now it’s about the slow robot, Joyce, who’s a brutal KO waiting to happen and Fury beating him, lol.

Anyway, I think Roach saying Fury will spark AJ comes from the fallacy that AJ can’t take a punch. But he can and his chin is solid. His recovery is the only problem. Also, the Ruiz 1 fight can’t tell you much because he wasn’t fit for the fight and it should’ve been cancelled. Fury also doesn’t have the power to spark AJ...judging based on Wilder who’s made out of glass can’t tell you much since you don’t become a big puncher overnight. AJ will outbox and spark Fury in 7.

I believe he’s going by AJ vs Fury and Wilder vs Fury.

Plenty basing their view on the last couple of years and handful of fights.

Joshua can't take a punch. Joshua runs.

Fury is a knockout machine (somehow, after not knocking out a wiped out Wilder). Fury can't be hurt.

They've both shown plenty of other elements during their careers. Fury has looked vulnerable, he's also been more of a boxer than a puncher for his entire career.

Joshua has taken big shots from serious heavyweights. And he has made a career of knocking guys out.

There's far more to their careers than a couple of fights. The fact they made adjustments doesn't mean they made permanent changes, it just means they're good enough to make adjustments.

You d think he'd pick man with better boxing skills? You think better boxing skills means IQ?
But I guess not, it's about adapting on the spot

Not sure how Freddie gets that AJ is a better boxer. He's no slouch but Fury is the best pure boxer in the division right now by a wide margin. AJ has to win by activity and the threat of a KO, otherwise he will get out boxed and possibly stopped if he gets winded.

If Fury goes southpaw it’ll be a short night for him because AJ will K.O within 4 rounds .
