Whatever you need to tell yourself Danafanatic. They do match their guys because they are a single promotion. The UFC compared to boxing is in its infancy and already you got guys looking to unions, smaller promotions, BKFC and again begging for boxing matches. They are wearing uniforms lol. It's sad and pathetic. After a century boxing has its flaws but there is nothing like a big boxing match. It catches the publics attention. The numbers prove it. MMA needs Boxing, too big of a legacy and shoes to fill.

This arse clown found out really fast that pro boxers don't go for the strong-arm UFC tactics he gets away with in MMA. He also knows Al, Bob and Eddie will make his attempted entry into the sport next to impossible. Stick a fork in Zuffa Boxing.Comment

The number of UFC fighters begging for boxing, unions bkfc is minuscule and not even a drop in the bucket. I agree there’s nothing like a big boxing match but they happen when? Once every five years? Minus Mayweather The days of big boxing matches ended in the 90s my friend. And even with Mayweather he paled in comparison to the 90 million that tuned into Ali.
Boxing should go to the single promotion model otherwise you can call the dying sport dead. No one follows anymore due to the 10 champions per weight division. It’s an absolute joke. Unless it’s a big fight UFC is smashing boxing PPV numbers. While Spence Garcia was respectable 250k it did nowhere near ppv numbers for UFC this year. Almost all UFC PPV events have done over a million buys for 2020. The lowest for this year was 665k and that was for a more minor event.Comment

Boxing has its problems but I'm not sure Dana White is the one to fix them. Thats not to say MMA doesn't have things that boxing should emulate; boxing is too focused on undefeated records and fear of losses. Look no further than the posters on NSB calling any fighter with a loss or two a bum.
Ultimately, UFC will have serious competition and rival promotions with staying power and they will be no different than a promotional banner in boxing. While also beset with their own problems, I would think the best model would be something like International Tennis Federation or Professional Golf Association. I still don't see it happening however and would probably require government intervention to come to fruition.Comment

Man learned quick that he won't have the power of monopoly to screw boxers over and pay them peanuts like he does in the UFC. He really thought that he woulda been able to change the structure of boxing, but couldn't even get in the front door. LolComment

The only none gimmick Floyd fight that did more PPV buys than any UFC was the Pac fight, which was built up for 5+ years and was the biggest drawing boxing match of all time. Most of his fights did in the 1-1.5m buys range which isnt exactly an uncommon number for the UFC.
Hes also been retired from serious competition for over 5 years and is 43 years old.....
Define big boxing match? Fury/Wilder 2 did less buys than Usman/Masvidal this year. Conor/Khabib did roughly as many buys as both Canelo/GGG fights combined. Spences big comeback just now is being reported as doing like 250k buys. Loma/Lopez was given away on regular ESPN so Top Rank could finally get a ratings victory over the UFC.Comment

Dana is like a shy ****** with a Only Fans account. Its one tease after another lol.
That said he's not wrong & he's preaching to the choir in me by saying boxing needs to be rebuilt & restructured. Everyone knows boxing makes zero fooking sense outside of the ring & it might be the only major sport that doesn't make sense outside the playing ground of a sport.
People will always care more about celebs fighting vs. pros because of the potential for embarrassment. They want to see if the same thing happens like Nate Robinson. That potential for embarrassment doesn't exist with other sports like that. And people are more curious to see celebs get embarrassed than pros they've never heard of doing it for a living.Comment
