De La Hoya was the top dog in 2008 when Floyd Mayweather moved up to fight him.

It didn’t mean De La Hoya was the number one p4p fighter.

Ok Inoue is getting a lot of love here. but who has he beat? didn't he have to go to hell n back to beat a washed Nonito? im just saying..

Oscar was not top dog in 2008. not even close. he had just beat Mayorga a year prior. Keef had wins vs Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter. undefeated and top 3 easly at 147. that's top dog status.

There's no sensible reason for Crawford to be above Spence. None.

So 2 of those happened almost a decade ago.

We can't keep letting fighters feast on old accomplishments when others are beating Top 5 welterweights ( aka the CURRENT weight class ) back-to-back in the span of a year.

De La Hoya was the top dog.

He was the biggest non heavyweight draw in the entire sport at the time.

His win over Mayorga was for a title at 154. Mayorga was the former undisputed champion at 147 and a two division champion. That’s totally comparable to Garcia or Porter.
