It’s a stay busy fight that’s hard to get excited about.
Is anybody excited about AJ vs Pulev?

Exactly, we are Boxing fans, they are American boxer fans. Just like at school where everybody learns History and Americans learn American History.Comment

Americans are fans of boxing WAAAAY before they're fans of American boxers. I would actually say Brits are far more guilty of nationalistic bull****. Say someone like Whyte was American, do you honestly think he would be getting anything resembling the recognition he gets here??? Do you seriously think there would be 200k+ people watching him take on the likes of Povetkin again just after losing????
Americans value winners, we simply value Brits. Doesn't matter how bad, as long as they're British. Guys like Chisora (whose a national treasure) shouldn't really be anywhere near PPV. Good on them for making a good income for themselves, but lets not pretend as if we have any real respect for talent of nationalistic sentiment. Do you legit think a fight like Hunter/Kownacki/Miller vs. Usyk would be anywhere near PPV???
Stop man. We stay up until 4am because we know guys like Lopez, Crawford, Spence or even Tank are likely the best in the world at their craft. We gather round to watch AJ because he's likeable and British. Stop bull****ting.Comment

Whyte would get credit because of his opponents, outside of AJ he has took in the most credible opposition. He has taken on opponents wilder has ducked.Americans are fans of boxing WAAAAY before they're fans of American boxers. I would actually say Brits are far more guilty of nationalistic bull****. Chisora isn’t a national treasure by any means but he is entertaining - he’s seen as a gatekeeper and rightly so really because he’s a great gauge for where people sit and we all know his style brings entertaining fights 95% of the time. He doesn’t Ppv very often, when he does it’s been down to his opponent but has had a strong undercard too. I agree that it’s more stretching to have them as Ppv but equally it’s 1/3 of the cost of a US Ppv.Comment

This is what the **** I mean. British fans are ****ing delusional. What "credible opponents"? He lost to both Joshua and Povetkin and his fight with Parker was a farce in which he barely sc****d a win. That leaves who? Rivas? Browne? Helenius? Are these names indicative of PPV star talent? Seriously?? Hell, the Wilder's first PPV was way after he won the WBC strap...you legit think he wouldn't be front and centre of Sky Sports if he had achieved the same whilst hailing from the UK???
I personally like Chisora a lot but, even then, you cannot convince me that any of his recent fights bar the one with Usyk justify the PPV. And the PPVs being cheaper is not an excuse. You cant sit there and claim we're just fans of boxing and then justify fights you clearly know aren't PPV worthy using their relative pricing as an excuse.Chisora isn’t a national treasure by any means but he is entertaining - he’s seen as a gatekeeper and rightly so really because he’s a great gauge for where people sit and we all know his style brings entertaining fights 95% of the time. I hope it’s not a classic “tall heavyweight that can’t fight other tall heavyweights” fight. The one with Pulev and Wlad was awful to watch with them walking around like mummys with the push jab. Only saving grace was the big left hook at the end.Comment

Having taken on Helenius, Rivas, Browne and Chisora are decent fights - he isn’t a champion and didn’t have to take those fights , he could’ve taken easier fights like fury for example with Wallin, Schwartz, etc.
Wilder would be on sky sports a big fighter, of course he would be - and he should be in America too. Why that’s something you want to criticise British fans for I have no idea, wilder should’ve been on the same level in America and Joshua was in the UK if he had been promoted properly
Chisora has only been on Ppv twice - Usyk and the Whyte rematch. That whyte rematch got over 500k buys. His other fights have all been on normal tv.Comment

What's it got to do with the UK?Maybe for the UK fans.
Nobody makes plans around a Joshua fight in North America. Almost all wouldn't even waste their Saturday afternoon, in luxury, to watch his fights. That's if they even know him.
Joshua, his belts, or opponent's standing, nobody really gives a crap about in North America.
Must be MASSIVE in Europe.
We have a lot of our own good fighters over here.
As I said, it's a three belt Unified Heavyweight Champion against a top 10 mandatory.
Where does his US popularity come into it on a boxing forum? He's one of the best in the world... and that's not interesting to you? Someone with the username "BoxingIsGreat"?Comment
