If this wasn't Danny and Angel Garcia, I'd say this would pose a potential breaking point in their working relationship.

But I think they are too close to separate.

From the outside looking in, it seemed like Danny was fighting to not get knocked out....if that makes any sense. I mean, he's brave enough to stand there and catch & shoot but simply doesn't throw enough.

Also, his feet....they looked EVEN slower against Spence and the movement forced Danny to keep his hands at home. I don't know, man....Danny's fights are always so weird when all the dust settles.

You wouldn't have thought Danny threw nearly the same amount of power shots as Spence, but he did. Did it look like it? Not so much but Spence wasn't just in there steamrolling Danny, so he was returning fire at certain points. There's always a stone to turn when it comes to Swift's fights.

I see why Angel's disappointed....Danny's damn near at "Broner" level as far as having a big name but not throwing enough punches. I believe Angel was just saying, "Had you thrown enough punches, I could've disputed the decision somehow".

I imagine he’s making a comparison between García and broner when fighting at elite level. They both don’t let their hands go enough, lose the fight on inactivity, then claim they won the fight.

Danny's ONLY success was in the two rounds he clearly was more aggressive (2 and 12). Angel isn't wrong.

It's not that I think Angel's wrong, it's that he thinks it's as easy as just throwing more punches when. 1) his son usually is conservative with his punch output by nature and 2) he had an opponent doing things that made it difficult to "just let his hands go".

I think Angel is correct in addressing Danny's low punch output and letting him know that this could have been a winnable fight. Danny is a boxer. His job is being a boxer and that is how he makes money primarily. Being blunt is not a bad thing especially when it is true.

I still think Danny's biggest issues are not having a versatile authoritative jab and not throwing 3 to 4 punch combinations. If he could just develop those even slightly he honestly would be a lot tougher to beat.

I don't mention things like better footwork or speed because that is not Danny's style. He needs to work off that step back and pivot counter but with combinations.

The thing is, Swift used to fight like that. So he CAN do it.

Really I think that's just who Garcia is as a fighter at this stage of his career. I'm sure there's a correlation between his output and his opponent's quality level too (which is common for most fighters). I know that he was the less busy fighter against Thurman and Porter (both losses) and was less busy against Herrera (probably should have been a loss). It's easy to be the busier fighter when you are younger, fresher and better fighter.

Spence’s team executed their game plan better. Teddy said when you constantly stick the jab out the right way and defensively while scoring with it, it will always negate counters.

Depends on how much the fighter wants it, because Fury did exactly that.
