I don’t get why people believe they’re so far apart. Both have comparable resumes and results.

Let’s look at the times they won titles:

Garcia won the unified title at 140 by beating Amir Khan. Khan, as always, was up but got hit with one punch and went to sleep.

The title he brought into that fight was won over old man Erik Morales, multiple divisions above his weight. It was so competitive they had a rematch. The first fight was for a vacant title btw.

Garcia then won the vacant wbc welterweight title by beating Robert Guerrero... worth noting Guerrero, the natural lightweight, won a gift split decision in his previous fight over a 19-3-1 fighter who knocked Guerrero down in the fight and was clearly completely shot as he fell apart before and since that fight.

Julius Indongo won the IBF title by destroying an undefeated prime champion in one round.

He then unified by beating Ricky Burns by wide decision. Burns has one that title by beating a prime undefeated champion.

That’s pretty comparable.

Title fight losses:

Indongo was outclassed by Crawford.

Garcia was outclassed by Spence.

Indongo was outclassed by Prograis

Garcia lost 8-4 type decisions to Porter and Thurman

That’s pretty comparable.

What sets Danny Garcia apart is he has a promoter.

That means he has multiple wins over old men with names who are fighting way above the weight they should.

So while Indongo moved up in weight and got murdered by up a European amateur star who’s on a path to a title, Danny Garcia fought retired fat men.

We all know what would happen if Danny Garcia fought Erickson Lubin or Brian Castano, right? What about if Indongo fought Mickey Roman?

They’re basically the same thing. I think Garcia would beat Indongo because Indongo has been beaten to death now but they should be considered about the same thing.

Mathysse was this undistructable and undefeated beast going into the Danny fight, Ricky Burns was NEVER regarded as highly as Mathysse was when Danny faced him.

I agree that Indongo was also considered a beast going into the Crawford fight and he had unified two belts. Crawford destroyed Indongo's career just like how Danny destroyed Mathysse's career, but Ricky Burns was NOT as highly regarded as Mathysse.
