I would say Garcia is a level above, but that's irrelevant.

But what you miss to say is Danny is American Latino, take that out of the equation and then he becomes a Viktor Postol.. good solid B level fighter.

You obviously didn`t follow boxing when Matthysse was unbeaten beast at 140, expected to beat everybody there and maybe even at 147.

Let’s look at the times they won titles:

Garcia won the unified title at 140 by beating Amir Khan. Khan, as always, was up but got hit with one punch and went to sleep.

The title he brought into that fight was won over old man Erik Morales, multiple divisions above his weight. It was so competitive they had a rematch. The first fight was for a vacant title btw.

Garcia then won the vacant wbc welterweight title by beating Robert Guerrero... worth noting Guerrero, the natural lightweight, won a gift split decision in his previous fight over a 19-3-1 fighter who knocked Guerrero down in the fight and was clearly completely shot as he fell apart before and since that fight.

Julius Indongo won the IBF title by destroying an undefeated prime champion in one round.

He then unified by beating Ricky Burns by wide decision. Burns has one that title by beating a prime undefeated champion.

        That’s pretty comparable.

        Title fight losses:

        Indongo was outclassed by Crawford.

        Garcia was outclassed by Spence.

        Indongo was outclassed by Prograis

Garcia lost 8-4 type decisions to Porter and Thurman

        That’s pretty comparable.

What sets Danny Garcia apart is he has a promoter.

That means he has multiple wins over old men with names who are fighting way above the weight they should.

So while Indongo moved up in weight and got murdered by up a European amateur star who’s on a path to a title, Danny Garcia fought retired fat men.

We all know what would happen if Danny Garcia fought Erickson Lubin or Brian Castano, right? What about if Indongo fought Mickey Roman?

They’re basically the same thing. I think Garcia would beat Indongo because Indongo has been beaten to death now but they should be considered about the same thing.

        Indongo was outclassed by Crawford.

No, Indongo was dominated and stopped early by Crawford. When has that happened to Danny?

        Garcia was outclassed by Spence.

        Indongo was outclassed by Prograis

No, Indongo was dominated and stopped early by Prograis so I ask again, when has that ever happened to Danny?

Garcia lost 8-4 type decisions to Porter and Thurman

I won't argue that Danny lost 8-4 or 7-5 in those fights but the funny thing is that Indongo lost way worse at the top level than Garcia ever did.

Also, for those trying to minimize Danny's win over Lucas Matthyse, hindsight is 20-20 but at the time Lucas was heavily favored:

Danny Garcia and Lucas Matthysse meet tomorrow night on Showtime pay-per-view, in a fight nearly as highly-anticipated as the main event. Can Garcia prove the skeptics wrong again, or will Matthysse barrel toward a pay-per-view main event of his own?

Don't take my word for it, take a look for yourself. Barely anybody picked Danny Garcia to win

          Postol's wins vs world champions:
Lucas Matthysse (not a real champion as he won the WBA "Regular")
DeMarcus Corley (held the WBO title before it was a recognized belt)

That's it. Two wins against two shot fighters who held fake versions of world title belts.

          Danny's wins vs world champions:
          Nate Campbell
          Kendall Holt
          Erik Morales
          Amir Khan by TKO
          Erik Morales again by KO
          Zab Judah
          Lucas Matthysse (again, "Regular" champion)
          Lamont Peterson
          Paulie Malinaggi by TKO
          Robert Guerrero
          Brandon Rios by TKO

You can say a lot of the champs Danny beat were has-beens, but most of the people Postol beat were never good to begin with.

            Lol what?

He made his name being a tough loss for Zab Judah.

He was supposed to get destroyed and he lost close.

He was never an undefeated beast. He was a Zab Judah victim who performed well.

Dumb, even for you. If you can’t see the difference in quality between Garcia and Indongo there’s not much hope for you. Your boxing IQ is extremely low and your opinion means less than nothing.

I agree that Indongo was also considered a beast going into the Crawford fight and he had unified two belts. Crawford destroyed Indongo's career just like how Danny destroyed Mathysse's career, but Ricky Burns was NOT as highly regarded as Mathysse.

The whole boxing universe (me included) thought Mattyse was gonna butcher Danny. Did you or are you going to tell us you were in the half of one percent that thought Danny would win?
