Spence said he didn’t stop Mikey because he wanted to prove he can “box on the inside.”
Then Max told him Porter was a close fight and Spence replied with the same thing, “I could’ve beat Porter easily if I boxed from the outside, I wanted to prove I can box on the inside.”

Those are EXCUSES. He won both fights, so I don’t know why he’s making excuses. What’s hard about saying, “Porter was a tough comptetitor” or saying “I wanted to finish Mikey but I couldn’t get it done”.

Making excuses as to why you performed a certain way, and then using that same excuse for back to back fights, is a bad look.

On first take he said he wanted to show people he could box, so he boxed Mikey Garcia on the inside, that’s why it went the distance.

He said only reason Porter fight was tough, was because he wanted to show people he can box on the inside also, but he could’ve boxed him from outside and easily won.
