There's a lot to be said about self awareness. DD was deluded, he bought into the hype. All he wanted to do was land the right and end the fight. Joe knows he's slow, he expects to get hit, but covers and smothers systimatically, and does steady if not deadly damage.

Sad for Dubois but happy Joyce won. Joyce is old and needs to be fighting for a title soon. Dubois can now finally learn he needs to fight higher level opponents!

I don`t know how you guys watch boxing, but Joyce is clearly top 10. In my book he is better than Whyte, Pulev, Ortiz. Fury beats him for sure, AJ also probably, he is tough fight for all other guys.

A lot to unpack here... People talking about dubios needing a tune up before? I truly wonder how that would have enabled him to learn the skill to protect yourself and adapt yourself in the ring. Would this tune up have taught him a left hook? a way to slip a punch and attack the body?
The problem is these guys are not being technically prepared, they all fight one way. I mean when the guy is pulling away from your right and you cannot throw a left hook? at least to keep him honest? All Joyce had to do was avoid one punch.
Tough to see him injured, but protect the damn eye! slip the jabs, fight to the body... NOTHING. Just a decent jab and right and a prayer.
Joyce has a good thing going and had no need to change. Dubois had to make him change... and could not.

Still find it staggering any boxing fan with an iq of more than 2 gave dubois a chance. Joyce being the underdog here was ridiculous.
