I was there the night he annihilated Razor the atmosphere was electric as was the 'fight'...Some great nights with Lennox.

Tyson was a harder fight and more money why would he fight Byrd ? Do you have a link showing Sanders wanted a rematch ? Lewis didn’t retire until Vitali was forced on him so why would Byrd be relevant ? Lewis had options he was still active.

On the contrary you can he duck Chris Byrd by your logic since he was the IBF mando and he dropped his title for a Mike Tyson fight. Why didn't Vitali rematch Corrie Sanders? That fight was worth a rematch

Sanders never demanded any rematch with Vitali. I agree it was a great fight but the beatdown was considerable, look at Sanders face after, imagine his face after 24 hours of swelling.

Again, Sanders didn't ever demand or make any moves to reamtch Vitali.

That fight wasnt prematurely stopped ffs Vitalis eye was a horrible mess. It was from a punch too so TKO correct. 4 rds to 2 Vitali at the time as i recall. Brutal fight best contest fir the title for years after that until the AJ Wlad fight.

There should have been a rematch though. No question but Lewis retired instead. Never came back.

Lennox waited and hope Kirk Johnson and Corrie Sanders would beat Vitali and then Lennox would have fought again. When Vitali beat Johnson and then Sanders, Lennox knew he could not fight against anyone but Vitali and opted to retire instead.
