He might mean it's why it's back in the USA. America has huge self worth and is incredibly insular so doesn't really acknowledge the rest of the world. I'm generalising but they don't know much outside of its own borders, it's all about USA, the flag, land of the free, that pledge they do at schools, we are the best at everything etc etc. You are literally taught this as a child in school and it continues from then on.

So I'm not surprised he would say this.

I'm merely correcting your post. You said his last fight in Alabama did 3000. His last 2 fights in Alabama were against Arreola and Washington and on average they had 12000 in attendance. He made $1.4 mil against Arreola and 900k against Washington.

I don't remember any casual fans talking about Bryant Jennings or the Wlad fight in general. After the Stiverne fight Wilder's profile started to raise and then all the soundbites and continued knockouts happened. Boxing isn't big here in america anyways and Wilder just filled the void. It doesn't mean he's the best but he benefitted from right timing..and matchups of course.

Give up - even r3tards know who singlehandedly brought the division back while Fury was as fat as wild boar.
Fury had never disappeared from the game , Joshua would never have won a world title

Every belt Joshua has is the one Fury never lost in the ring, and considering Joshua would now be able to beat Fury, it seems unlikely Joshua would’ve been a world champion champion.

Joshua is a product of good and fortunate timing where he could pick up world titles from garbage opposition like Charles Martin because his promoter is willing to pay them. He has still never taken a belt from top quality fighter. Embarrassing really when you consider they go around calling themselves the unified champion

In the US, probably. Outside the US, there are other fighters.

Wilder has been far more popular than the likes of Kownacki, Hunter, Ortiz, Arreola, Ruiz Jr.,Miller, etc. which are other US-based HWs over the last few years. Recently, Fury got a fanship but that is shorter in duration compared to Wilder and the same goes for Ruiz Jr. So, partially correct statement since he definitely had the major share for US. Also, his potential fights with Joshua were much talked about during 2017-2019 even if that never happened.

Wilder has a big mouth, is very brash and has a very big punch and a hell of a knock out %. He certainly got the attention of the public, but then he was so pathetically matched even the casuals didn't get excited. They love a big KO but they dont just want to see bums getting bowled over.

Wilder has had the reputation for being a protected bum smasher for a number of years. All he needed to do was fight bigger names earlier in his career and had he continued winning he would of been real big in the states.

But real Boxing fans understand why he was under matched, he isn't very good.

No one cared about Wilder until Hearn started building him up as an opponent for an undisputed fight with AJ. Say what you like about Hearn but he can get a guy in the news.

Then Fury put him over the top. Then Arum turned it up a notch again.

But it was always about Wilder the opponent for AJ or Fury. It was never about Wilder himself.

Wilder holding one belt hostage with a compliant organisation behind him just didn't make any waves in the division. And rightly so. He acted like a nobody, and got treated like a nobody. He should have acted like a champion.

Wilder s a nobody in reality. He was a scary ass ko artist, but when fury won, fury gets no credit at all by so many?
So if if you don't get credit for beating wilder what's wilder worth?

I would say the collection of Wilder, Fury, and AJ together at the same time brought back heavyweight boxing in the last 4 years or so.
