A poor man's version of Canelo would be DSG. Ryder and Canelo fight completely different...

      Hardly a cherry pick.

But can understand why people arent excited because Ryder beat Smith extremely comfortably.

So if any other fighter got Smith it woulndt matter because Ryder beat him? What is still stalemate of reasoning? Canelo fighting Smith has what to do with Ryder

          Yes, 100%

Because this is what happens. Just dont understand why two in-house fighters didnt rematch.

It smacks of the unfairness of boxing. Ryder will probably end up getting wiped out now in some boxing backwater when that rematch would have sorted him out.

Smith and Gallagher were so disingenuous after that fight too. Which put me off more than anything. I don't care if he lost I thought he lost 8-4 ish but I'd have liked to see him right that perceived wrong and just say yeah Ryder is a good fighter and got on top on the night.

He looks babied now. Has zero momentum going into that fight

Hoping for the best but I got my doubts.
On the button. I'm no Canelo fan but I've no complaints about this fight of everything's on the up and up.

And no I don't want his to fight Beterbiev
Smith had a bad night against Ryder I agree and I personally thought he lost but Smith is still a quality fighter

This won’t be an easy night for Canelo.

Rematch merit and unfairness is nothing new in boxing. Let’s take Lara for example. His loss against Canelo. Lara went on to make great money each fight thereafter. Ryder just has to hustle and get a KO or a good win to get another “in-house” shot. For example, Ryder vs Lemieux was supposed to happen remember. Lemieux got injured. Now let’s say if Ryder beat Lemieux it would’ve got him another rematch with BJS. Promoters are very fickle and the very least a fighter can do if they’re begging is to show up in spectacular fashion whenever ready. Lara is old. Ryder can bounce back. He would always be the man remembered to have first dethroned Smith the way many fans remember Mauricio Herrera was the guy who dethroned DSG.

Whilst every thing you say is true, it is why me and probably other fans arent feeling it.

I'm not putting anything on Canelo here.

It isn't his fault Smith got beat.

Smith arguably is the highest profile super middle so he's just going for 'top guy'. But from a fans point of view I cant shake that Smith is carrying no momentum into the fight. Zero.
