The most dangerous guy Lennox ever fought?

I would go with Vitali. the guy in his prime, while Lennox was over the hill, past his prime.

Holyfield and Mike Tyson are bigger names obviously, but they were not threats when Lennox fought them.

It's been a very long time since I saw it, so I may be wrong but didn't Zeljko Mavrovic give Lewis a boatload of problems?

But yeah, I'd say either Ray Mercer or Vitali Klitschko

Lewis fought a bunch of killers, and we all know most heavyweights have potential to KO their opponents. Mercer, Golota, Tua, Vitali, Briggs, Grant and others were all strong dudes. Then, of course, McCall and Rahman caught him on the button. His resume was stacked.

        I agree with Jake, Vitali.

Tyson and Holy had better days by the time Lennox put on his big boy pants.

His early to mid 90s runs is very respectable but that's his own prime as well.

By the time he's fighting Vitali he's ready to retire, super ready. It's impressive he was one of the few who could dig deep and show a young lion they're not yet king of the pride.

TBH, I think he should have fought Ruiz instead of Grant.

People don't ever point this out when they're giving RJJ **** for being just a title holder, but the truth is the only reason Ruiz was a title holder in the first place was because Lennox ducked him, got stripped, and fought Grant instead. Ruiz fought Holy for a title vacated by Lennox. Then he did it again later when he ducked Byrd to fight dusty old Tyson. Byrd also fought Holy for a title vacated by Lennox.

Mike Tyson gathered the belts after Larry Holmes made a mockery of being "the man" only for Lennox to do the same ****.

And since Lennox split the belts who has gathered them? By the time Vitali is fighting Lennox you have a young guy who has seen Lewis as the man for at least three years fighting him for just one title.

Pretty impressive way to end a career but also Lennox Lewis was kind a ****ty HW champion.

Mavrovic did frustrate Lewis some but it seemed like that was his goal in the fight rather than winning. Just to survive and spoil rather than actually try to take rounds but he did accomplish that and gave a good account of himself, I don't know how much Lewis was really in danger though.

Vitali klitschko is an ATG H2H nightmare and imo a top 5 HTH fighter all time. Lewis beat him in his prime. That win is one of the best in history imo

Vitali had no step up fight leading up to Lewis ,I don’t think Lewis fought the same guy Johnson did after the loss and that’s the guy Lewis declined to fight and retiring .

Lewis himself said that Shannon Briggs had the best punching power and handspeed of anyone he fought. Briggs just had no gas tank or footwork.

But for the first half of a fight Briggs was dangerous to ANYBODY.

That fight was peak Lewis in my opinion.

Briggs was excellent, but outgunned in every department.

At least Briggs got to go out on his shield in that one. Hell of a fight between two great champions.

Not like in the Vitali fight when he tore his bicep in the first round and couldn't fight back as Klitschko laid a savage 12 round beating on him.
