I like brook but i dont agree with that “dare to be great” part. Brook is one One of those talented fighters who faced nothing but bums for the first decade of his career. Dude turned pro in like 04 and faced his first live opponent in 2014 against Porter.

He cruised for ten years until he decided to cash grab with GG. That was about the money, not about greatness.

There were so many great matchups in his own division so why didnt he go for them? It wasnt a situation where he was so much better than everybody else that he had to seek out tougher comp in bigger divisions.

It made no sense at the time to face GG. It was about the money and he payed for it too by losing a part of himself in the ring.

Sadly the casuals in this country will buy into it...

I won’t be buying it though.

Tell you what? Kell Brook sure did like rematches.

Carson Jones twice, Ernie Smith three times etc

It is a good trait in a fighter, when they are willing to rematch opponents.

Seemed like he was still trending upward until Carson Jones I - then whatever idea one had of him fighting the rest of the division was lost. I was always excited - there was a nice WW crop in the US but also this other UK guy Brook who looks really good too, he will factor in.
I guess the Porter fight was as close as we got while he was prpime - I went to that fight, one of the most sparsely attended fights at Home Depot I've been to.....I guess he figured he isn't **** out here even with a relatively known opponent then I can just milk it at home until something else pops up.

Also, you can try to be great while also getting paid 5 million for your troubles, not mutually exclusive
