It's in back and white. There is no getting around it.

I can post the court documents as well. Neither side contested the WBC withdrawing the sanction. The court battle was whether or not Povetkin still owed him the money since he blew the test.
Wilder was already heading home before the WBC made any decision. It forced their hand to postpone the fight.

I'm not dis*****g that the WBC made that decision. I'm saying they had no choice. It's not like they could strip the champion for the challenger failing a test. The fight might have happened if Wilder was willing to fight. He wasn't.

This is the WBC's OWN words.

The WBC heavyweight championship of the world was scheduled to be contested on May 21, 2016 in Russia. The Bout was Champion Deontay Wilder’s mandatory defense of his title against Mandatory Challenger Alexander Povetkin. The Bout was the result of a purse bid the WBC conducted and which promoter World of Boxing won.

The Bout was Champion Deontay Wilder’s mandatory defense of his title against Mandatory Challenger Alexander Povetkin. The Bout was the result of a purse bid the WBC conducted and which promoter World of Boxing won.

On May 13, 2016 VADA reported to the WBC that Alexander Povetkin’s anti-doping test that had taken from his April 27, 2016 sample pursuant to the WBC Clean Boxing Program yielded an adverse finding for the banned substance Meldonium.

In light of Mr. Povetkin’s adverse finding, the WBC took the following steps:

      A. In order to preserve the integrity of the CBP and on the name of safety, lifted the sanctioning of the Bout, which resulted in the Bout being suspended;
There’s a discrepancy here your article is posted August 17th , look here Povetkin was cleared around that time ..the 19th ....this will show Povetkin would be available if the WBC wanted to resume the Wilder fight .

You failed to provide what happened two days later of the ruling which is in the link . Wilder could have taking the Povetkin fight and requested it .

Alexander Povetkin has been cleared after his positive drug test and will face Bermane Stiverne for an interim title with the winner getting Deontay Wilder

Dude, did you even read this article or the BoxingScene article I provided. He was cleared in the BoxingScene article. He received a slap on the wrist where he was required to enter VADA for a year.

The Povetkin-Stiverne order was issued THE SAME DAY.

On May 15, 2016, the WBC granted Champion Deontay Wilder the right to make a voluntary defense of his World Title, which took place on July 16, 2016. In connection with that defense, Champion Wilder injured his right hand and arm, injuries that required surgery.

Nothing happened two days later, CBS Sports took two days to write something on the WBC's ruling.

And in that ruling, the WBC noted Wilder suffered an injury just last month and had to undergo surgery, which is why they ordered Povetkin-Stiverne for the interim-title - with the winner fighting Wilder next, but once again Povetkin got popped for PEDs.

Wilder and Povetkin were already engaged in a full blown lawsuit. I don't see too many fighters involved in a bout who are suing each other.

This isn’t true the Stiverne fight was for an elimination bout to fight Wilder so if what you say is correct they would not make Povetkin a potential mandatory in the first place should he have won against Stiverne which is the most likely outcome . The case Povetkin won was in 2018 well after Povetkin was set up to once again fight Wilder in a potential 2017 bout .

A court case dis*****g defamation of character would not interfere with a title fight that is mandated by the WBC that would be a separate case . In the end Povetkin was supposed to be reinstated as the official mandatory somewhere and fight Wilder who could have fought him after the proclaimed injury ,instead we got Wilder vs Washington along the way .

Whatever happened on who tested for what is not the issue ,it’s could Wilder have fought Povetkin ? The answer is yes I just proved why ,you can’t say Povetkin can fight Stiverne but not Wilder just cause . Wilder fought Washington just months after his proclaimed injury why couldn’t they wait ?

They both delayed the fight at different points, but Povetkin was the one who ended up regretting it. If it had gone down as first scheduled, he would have been able to use as much Meldonium as he wanted without any comebacks.

Again, do you even read the links. You keep saying things are not true when Im showing you WBC orders

From the same link, dated August 17, they ordered an interim title fight. I have no idea what eliminator you are talking about.

And it was NOT just a defamation suit. Wilder/DiBella were suing for the full purse of the canceled May fight, which was being held in escrow. Povetkin did a counter-suit for defamation.

You are trying to rewrite history and speculate. Would have, could have. He failed another drug test, the WBC removed the sanction, and Stiverne left Russia.

An interim championship is ordered between the two highest available contenders, No. 1 Alexander Povetkin and No. 2 Bermane Stiverne.

The free negotiations period begins today and if there is no agreement, a purse bid will be conducted on Friday, September 16. The split will be 50 percent for each fighter. Clean Boxing Program VADA testing will be mandatory, as well as the 10 percent bonus from the bid for the winner of the contest.

Of course the big bird legged no class jack a55 fraud wilder ducked Povetkin. But they disguised the duck in a fake rigged positive ped test to get out of the fight they knew the big fraud had no chance to win.
