    Just a matter of time before there is a interim, super and franchise version of that piece of crap.

    Sulaiman has no shame.

      [QUOTE=NearHypnos;20879271...Lets be honest though, there are some fine fighters who just point blank are not big enough to compete with guys like Fury who are so big that it’s realistically not fair. Like Povetkin.

      However, would any of these guys settle for not fighting in the biggest and baddest class in whats essentially open weight? Doubt[/QUOTE]

      Good comment. Fact is, they will keep the name heavyweight wherever the money is at. Right now, it's the big boys. And you are correct that the smaller.giys will go chasing that money and glory. It's why we have Gassiev, Usyk and Hunter making the move. Heck, Okolie has been talking HW for a while and he hasn't even made a name for himself at cruiser.

      There should be a weight class for the 190 - 210 area but the really good fighters in this area will all travel north in search of the big money and fights.

        What maybe should have been down is put cruiser at 210, 215;

        Cruiser would become much more funny and open like the heavyweight division is.

          Since Wilder ducked the Fury-Wilder 3 fight, this is an opportunity for one trick to hold hostage to this belt...another Sophie but much less sophisticated if you know what I mean.

          Word out there is, Wilder would be sold to fight on this new division against an absolute bum, if he wins he becomes the champion of two weight divisions...absolute crap!!!

            This guy is no different from his dad who everyone knew was in 'only in America's' pocket.The WBC are crooks I don't need to quote the evidence it is there to clearly see.You could start with the way they rank their 'own' .The silly belts they give away and they were planning to give that pathetic exhibition Tyson/Jones farce one too.Silver belts , diamond belts .We all know about the history of corruption in boxing and their 'model' is really no different.Now new weight divisions = more sanctioning fees for the greedy outfit.At a time when there's clearly enough weight divisions and no need for one more diamond in any belt the WBC are only showing they are also completely inept and out of sync in what their role in boxing should be!!!

Fighters around this weight want the BIG prize, the glamour division ....the heavyweight championship of the world, it has history, it has meaning and is the biggest prize out there.

                    boxing fans get abused by boxing so much its remarkable how its still one the most popular sports in the world. Its up to the fans to keep this belt around if they tune in it will stay if they dont it will go away in a few years.

                      Does anyone here know what the plans are with this as far as fights go? There's going to be a vacant title, will two just fight for that straight away or will they have eliminators? Would HW's like Wilder be interested in this? I really don't think they will.

                      The reason the best CW's look to move up to HW is that CW division does not have the respect the HW division gets, and only the very best CW, can do anything at HW. This new bridger division will get less respect than the CW division, with it being newer and will have a much smaller talent pool.

                      Part of the greatness of the HW division is that there are fighters of all shapes of sizes. A 15 stone powerhouse can knock out any human being on the planet. Too much emphasis is put on size. Fury isn't awesome because he's big, he's awesome because of his skill level. How quickly he processes information in the ring, his desire, his speed and agility, etc.

                      Can anyone honestly say that Wilder would rather be the bridger champion of the world ahead of the HW? It's just not the same. I can see the potential in top CW's moving to bridge to test the waters a bit for possible HW move in the future, but aside from that, I don't see much going on with this division.
