Fury just wants to move on and ultimately fight AJ twice. He's been messed about with enough radio silence and now the deadline's passed he's got his chance to move on to bigger better things before even more mando's are called.
Can't knock him, what will leathering Wilder a 3rd time do for his legacy when the undisputed, belts and bigger purse are with a showdown with AJ?
I've seen some ridiculous excuses throughout the years such as pacs shoulder excuse, Juanma calling the ref a degenerate gambler, Canelo claiming he was too young and weight drained, Joshua saying he got sick in the locker room, but nobody has made themselves look more ridiculous than Wilder. From the costume, to the egg weights to blaming breland, he's made himself a whole clown.
I discount the element of surprise because Wilder's confidence is likely in the toilet. If he really wants a third fight, I doubt he will feel confident enough to throw that right hand against Fury. The guy has his number and he knows it. That said, I wouldn't mind a third fight either, if for nothing but the sheer pleasure of seeing Wilder getting pummeled senseless again.
Discounting a surprise doesn't eliminate the possibility of one. Wilder may not have much of a chance to win but no one will bet their life savings on a Fury win if they have any sense. Boxing is the theater of the unexpected and just when people think they have things figured out, the impossible or near impossible happens. The fight happening depends on the willingness of both participants cause the fight would no doubt draw money.
One thing is certain. Tyson Fury is not scared of Deontay Wilder. He proved that in the first match when he was visibly still out of shape and in the rematch when he took it to him.
Wilder knew the deadlines and if he wants a shot he is going to have it likely earn it by getting a decent win.
From what it looks like though. Deontay Wilder will also have an excuse as to why Tyson Fury beat him no matter how many times they fight.
Yep. Me either. I also would not blame him for cashing the check and beating him down again. But I hope he sticks to his guns and walks completely away from Wilder.
