I remember that fight and yes, it was a good call by his corner. Of course a fighter will be angry if his corner stops the fight. But if he wasn't getting his a$$ handed to him than maybe he wouldn't have stepped on to the apron.

A flashback to the hungry Floyd Jr. He never lost his hunger, he just learned how to control that hunger and worked it smart..........Rockin'

How could I forget the unforgettable Katsidis vs Earl mini-war?

A towel was thrown by Earl's corner... and Mickey Vann threw it back to them, and let the fighters go on!

Throwing towels do not stop fights. Everyone knows this.

If a cornerman wants a fight stopped, do it between rds.

Throwing towels will not erase the punishment that has already occurred.
Whatever damage was done, throwing a towel will not make 1 bit of a difference.

Again, stop the fight between rds if the ref hasn't already.
File a complaint with the commission about the ref's incompetency.

Above all else, what the boss says, goes.

Jorge Castro vs John D Jackson was another (no towel thrown but would have if Breland was in the corner).

I doubt any one of us would want an employee of ours to throw in towels. I would never instruct a cornerman to save my ass with a towel.

The towel was definitely NOT thrown in Apollo Creed vs. Ivan Drago.

Buddy McGirt stopped the Dadashev Matias fight in between rounds but it was already too late.

Not sure the point I'm trying to make exactly, but you can't always save everyone unfortunately.
